Ads are showing to users but there are no clicks

I'm facing a problem never before and I don't know where I should turn up to. The specialist I'm on the "line" is saying that this should be the appropriate group.

So I have around 15 apps on my Admob account and since the end of May I'm experiencing "loss of clicks" on some of the apps (around 5 of them). I can see that people see ads just fine (impression) but the click never occurs even after thousands of impressions.  Historically it's impossible that not a single click would occur.

A few days ago I noticed that apps started to gain clicks again after 2 months (not sure if this was the work of specialist on the "line" or some other factor), but now I see that clicks are registered only on Banner format (as far as I'm concerned), but not on interstitials, so my issue persists.

Some apps weren't updated for more than a year and everything worked fine before, but suddenly it doesn't (on Admob Network).

- If I turn up the mediation it works just fine in other ad networks (Unity, Applovin).

- Ads were also tested with Admob Test Suite and working without issues.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I was wondering if you could answer a few questions that we have so that we can better help you with this.

• We would definitely start by recommending that you upgrade the SDK as you state it is over a year old. As there might be issues without of date code.
• Would it be possible to send over a sample project relating to one of the apps that is having an issue so that we can look more into it.
• Have you seen any steps that help to reproduce this issue. And if so what are they.
• Do you have any error codes or Charles logs from testing that you have done that could also show the issue better.
• Also can we get a link to one of the apps that is live in the store so that we can test it on our end more to see if there is anything unusual happening.

When sending any information please use the "Share privately to Author" button. And to not post any private information online. Also anything we get is only used for testing purposes and deleted once done.

Hey,

We at Foap have similar problem on our iOS app (Android one is working without any issues)

As You can see on attached report from March 1 we suddenly encounter clicks dropdown without any particular reason. Then in middle of the Jun we encounter another clicks dropdown and this time it was almost to 0. This is not possible because as You can see we still have impressions on the same level as before so users couldn't just stop to click ;)

We are wondering what is going on here for quite a while already but we can't come up with anything.

What is even more weird as You can see on attached report from time to time there are huge peaks in clicks number.

Hi Marek,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I was able to look at the screenshot that you sent us. And can see that their is a huge drop in clicks around roughly when you mentioned and then see that their is that small spike.

Just a few questions to ask you in regards to the 2 specific moments where we see huge change in clicks.

• Were there any company changes to the app.
• Was their any thing that you can think of that happened around those times that might have resulted in drops?
• Have you seen any issues with ads causing issues for users? Or with Ads being displayed?

Have you reached out to our Product Support Team as they usually handle more of the server side issues which this sounds like.

At that time there was no changes in the iOS app (version 3.10.0 was already in AppStore from Jan 24 2020)

Next update (3.10.1) was published Mar 23 2020 but first clicks dropdown was already there for 3 weeks. 

 

• Was their any thing that you can think of that happened around those times that might have resulted in drops?

No. 

• Have you seen any issues with ads causing issues for users? Or with Ads being displayed?

No, ads are displaying normally as they used to before.The only issues is a lack of clicks (what is not possible as users behave the same way as they did before - we measure that)

Other ads (like banners) works fine and have clicks (example in attachment)

 

Have you reached out to our Product Support Team as they usually handle more of the server side issues which this sounds like.

Hi Marek,

Thank you for the additional information. Would it be   possible for you to get a Charles log of this event for us to look over it and see what is happening. Or can you send us a sample app that would display this behavior so that we can look into why you would not be receiving the click.

Also can you share with us via "Reply privately to author" button with the following information:

• App Id and Ad Unit Ids in question.
