Hello,

I'm using new admob.

I've noticed in my apps that interstitial impressions are much lower than requests, yet fill rate is about 100%.

I've configured house ad and mediation in hope to fill remaining requests.

For today i see (for that ad unit in admob network report) about:
4,500 requests
1,500 impressions

But on mediation report (for same ad unit) i see:
1,500 requests
1,500 impressions

Everything goes to admob network, nothing to house ads.

My question is - what happened with those remaining 3,000 requests? Why i'm not seeing them in mediation report?

Hi Michal,

Are your users in an area with poor internet connectivity? It could be that the ad isn't loading fast enough.

I guess you're right. But what confuses me is ad mediation report. It only show requests for shown intersitials?

Also, i noticed that sudden drop in interstitials happened starting from 14 march. In all my apps. Even in USA (where internet connections should be good). Maybe something have changed with admob servers?

On the other side looks like CTR is higher from that date. So maybe there's something with reporting?

I just found out another topic where there is information that reporting has been changed. Now impressions are only counted if ad is shown. That explains drop in impressions and raise in CTR.

So problem is in my apps. I have one place in app where i show interstitials and looks like they aren't ready by then.

HI Michal,

We actually had a bug with interstitials reporting that we recently fixed. Before interstitials counted as impressions when the ad was received, instead of when it was shown, but now it's reporting correctly. This probably explains the drop in impressions.

HI Michal,

It might help to request interstitials some time before you show them. It can sometimes take a while to load. Obviously figuring out when to do this is tricky, since you don't want a huge drop in CPM.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. I will be assisting you from here. It is possible that you are not showing all the interstitials which you request. An impression is recorded explicitly only when you show() it. However, this forum only deals with technical SDK related issues. To address your concern in detail, you will have to reach out to the AdMob Product Support Team.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi,

I am curious about the Impressions vs Request rates of ads in my app.

The impressions I receive are only about 2.5% of the total matched requests. (195 requests, matched 100%, but only 5 impressions). Something seems wrong as there is huge difference. I have my code where I call the ad in the following stackoverflow question. Could you please tell me if I am calling ads wrong, or is this impression rate normal?

Thank you,
