Hello,

I currently host my apps on Google Play, Amazon App Store, and Samsung App Store.

There are many more app stores out there which I'd like to utilize, but I don't know, if AdMob allows us to upload to all these app stores? I have in mind SlideMe, GetJar, Yandex, Soc.io, etc.

Would this brake AdMob's TOS? I've tried to find anything in regard to this, but was not able to.

Thanks.

The devices having Amazon app store don't have Google Play. Similarly Google play devices don't have Amazon app store ( and its not available on Google play to download, though one would grab it from its website but by default, Android devices tend to warn for apps from Unknown sources. So kind of neglible probablity of people having Google Play devices to have Amazon app store). The Ads in both kind of devices need to be different as the Ads of Games/ Apps download in AdMob should be of Amazon app store in Kindle devices and of Google play in other Android devices. This feature AdMob allows.

But the devices having Samsung App store(if its Android) will have Google play. So the Ads can be the same. Similarily for GetJar.
Though I dont know devices having SlideMe, GetJar, Yandex, Soc.io, etc as the only available app store. They must be having Google Play ( then only Google gives OEM's, Android OS for free, I guess)

I dont think, this will break AdMob's TOS unless you are showing the Ad placement as same as in the Google play version of your app.

Would be glad to have more information on this. But don't know if it is the right forums for this.

Best,
Kunal

It's fine to submit the app to other stores. You won't be able to link them (so you won't be able to run house ads) and you'll also want to include the Google Play Services jar in your distribution, but otherwise you should be good.

I also have my apps on those (and several other) app stores.  It's fine, possibly even for house ads.  I have used a separate app ID for AdMob for each flavor (e.g. Google Play, Amazon, Samsung) so the house ads can target just the correct ID, where you know the link will work.  I'm moving away from that level of detail, however, as it's a pain to track when you have a bunch of apps ;)

I've investigated a lot of app stores, I don't think of them have forced me to use an ad network (although they mandate using their own in-app-purchase system).

One issue could be fill rate and clickthrough rate.  Each appstore has had a different region mix for me, and some regions (e.g. Africa vs North America) may not have ads available at that time.  In that case, having a fallback (either using mediation in Admob or in your own code) can help find a different ad to show.  Observe your number to see if this is an issue with your users.  Even with a high fill rate, different regions may have different click through rates and therefore different eCPMs.
