AdMob SDK Rewarded Ads ServerSideVerificationOptions mediation BUG

There is a bug with GADServerSideVerificationOptions on iOS.
The parameters custom_data and user_id are not attached to callback request when you set GADServerSideVerificationOptions in application after ad is loaded (when you set it before ad is loaded parameters are attached correctly). Issue is present on AdMob iOS SDK version 7.50.0 and above. Release Notes from version 7.50.0 claims to fix it but it only works for AdMob Ads. When you are using mediation providers (like Applovin or FB Audience Network) GADServerSideVerificationOptions are set and provided to AdMob servers only prior to ad load after that it does not work.

We need to add custom data just before showing ads so our solution for now is to reload second time the ad with GADServerSideVerificationOptions but its bad for user experience.

Did anyone discover this problem? Or any solution for it?

Can you confirm that the issue you are seeing is that the custom data is not being passed when you set it after the ad is already loaded and before you call present, in the case when you're showing a mediated ad?

yes exactly. When we setup serverSideVerificationOption (after ad is loaded) just before ad is shown presentFromRootViewController custom data string is not passed to our server from AdMob SSV.

And this occurs only for mediation ads - when the ad is AdMob one this works fine. When we setup serverSideVerificationOption before ad is loaded everything works fine (for both mediation and AdMob)
So now we have a workaround solution for mediation ads to work correctly with our servers - we load rewarded ad second time before we want to show it.

This is even visible in Charles logs that rwd_custom_data field is correct with AdMob ad but in mediation ad this field has value @gw_rwd_custom_data@

In Android AdMob SDK setting ServerSideVerificationOptions SDK works correctly,

Hi Piotr,

The engineer has submitted a fix for this yesterday. It should go out in the next iOS release, due in 2 weeks. I will attempt to validate it before then and confirm that it is working as expected. Keep an eye on https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/rel-notes for updates.
