app-ads.txt not crawled

Admob now shows no url crawled for app-ads.txt. However this was fine previously, and nothing has changed: the file is served from  the correct url, and the website is correct in the play store listing.

Is there a way to force it to try again (wasn't there a button to request this at some point?)

With regard to your concern, you can check this article to resolve issues with app-ads.txt. You also need to Ensure your app-ads.txt files can be crawled.

Yeah, the console just has the "you haven't set up an app-ads.txt yet" card. There are no urls listed in the table.

Since you mentioned that this is working previously, what we can recommend is to set up again your app-ads.txt file and ensure that it is crawlable. Also, as per our document, you need to wait at least 24 hours for AdMob to crawl and verify your app-ads.txt file. Also, some publishers reported that it takes up to 72 hours before AdMob system verified their app-ads.txt file. We would ask for your patience during this time.

As it happens it looks like it was crawled overnight and it's OK again now. I'm not sure what went wrong in the interim. Maybe there was some transitory problem somewhere that caused the crawler to fail? But anyhow, for the time being things are OK.
