We have 2 apps in android, which experience a big drop yesterday and today(over 30%) in terms of request pageview. We try to open the apps using different device, and find out that even in WIFI situation, there is around 1/3 of the chance the ad cannot be loaded successfully, sometimes the ad will stop refresh after sometime. The two apps have been run for years, and the request rate is always steadily, recently we haven't update the apps for 2 month, so there is no reason that our update make the difference, is there anybody experience the same situation?

We have another apps in IOS which is just the same as the apps in android, and there is no drop in request rate at all. Since the 2 apps is targeting for different market, we believe that there may be some problem in the server of admob. Is there information that I can get from this forum? Thanks.

If your apps haven't changed in several months, it's possible that they need to be updated to the latest version of the AdMob SDK to match the releases of Google Play Services that have come out in that span.

Is there anything being written to the Android logs when the requests fail?

Also, have you tried temporarily replacing your Ad Unit Id with a test Ad Unit ID (see the AdMob Quick Start to find it), to see if that also fails to load and refresh properly?

I just update to the latest Google Play Services, the same thing happened. In the Log it show "No Ad Fill". My understanding is that even No Ad Fill, there should have request in the Ad, just the fill rate may get lower, however my fill rate is 97%. And we notice something in the log, normally if there is no ad, the mediation will refresh after some time ( we have set refresh interval) however it doesn't refresh at all. so once the there is no ad filled, the mediation will never refresh to load any ad again.

There is no error in the log. This only happen

Let me make sure I've got all the facts, so I can be sure I'm offering the correct suggestions:

1) You're currently seeing a drop in the number of total requests for ads made by your application
2) You have seen ads fail to load in your application.
3) When this happens, no error appears in the logs.
4) Also when this happens, the ads fail to refresh after the 30 second time limit expires

If any of the above isn't the case, please correct me.  I'd also like to ask for some more information from you:

1) When you say that the number of ad requests generated by your apps is dropping, where is that number coming from?  Are you using AdMob mediation to show ads from another provider, or are you displaying only AdMob ads?

2) Have you tried replacing your Ad Unit Id in the app with one of AdMob's test IDs (see the AdMob Quick Start to find a test ID for banner ads).  If so, did you still observe the app failing to load an ad?

We are using the admob mediation to show ads, the drop of request can be seen from 1. The request pageview of first mediation network, 2. The admob mediation record. Both of them shows a rapid decrease in request.
2) Have you tried replacing your Ad Unit Id in the app with one of AdMob's test IDs (see the AdMob Quick Start to find a test ID for banner ads).  If so, did you still observe the app failing to load an ad?

Yes we have try to use the test ad, and there is no problem at all, it will show the admob ad will be refresh after 60seconds,  The problem may be because after "No Ad Fill" and the admob mediation refuse to refresh again.

Eddie, would you mind giving me the Ad Unit Id you're using with your two apps?
