Hi,
I'm trying to implement the SKD of User Messaging Platform in my Android app; when the user decides to manage the ads options, no ads are displayed at all.
Also, if the users try to update their consent a default form is displayed, without showing the options checked at the first time.

Hi Pyron,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We would ask if you can send us a sample of the app with the UMP SDK implemented so that we can test with it.

The fact that no ads are being served is really more of an ad serving issue. Since the serving of ads will be based on the choice that the user gives. Which can result in a significant drop in ads being served.

Also for the form, yes it is a generic form that is called every time the request is made. So it does not pull from previous answers.

Should I send you the APK privately?
Anyway, I've discovered that if the user selects "Manage options", and then click on Submit without checking any checkbox, no ads are displayed at all. The only way the ads would be displayed would if the user after selecting "Manage options" selects "vendor preferences" checks some vendors; it's like if he's permitting vendors to show ads at all, not selecting between personalized and not personalized ads.
But of course, the majority of users won't accept the consent and will select "Manage options" withouth checking any checkbox, and doing so they won't have any ad displayed.
Is it all right? It would mean that in 2 months all of our apps would get no revenue at all!

Hi Pyron,

Thank you for the response back. You should be able to respond to this as it should only be sent to you. Also you can use the "Reply privately to author" button. If that does not work you can also send it to a private email that we use: mobileads...@gmail.com.
  • Also another thing that you can try to do is the following:Manage consent expectations with personal to you app funding choice messages. By accessing the consent string to allow functionality based on how much consent is offered.

Hi pyron...
I have the same problem too.
I have also seen some sites with this problem.
Should we give up our earnings?
The problem is this: when the user doesn't accept some things, google won't advertise

1.2 No consent for Purpose 1 for EEA countries and the UK.
Confirm whether the user intentionally disallowed Purpose 1 or if this is due to CMP implementation errors.
There is no fix for this as the consumer has declined consent for Purpose 1.

But in short, what should we do? do we close apps and sites?

Hi there,

There are many CMP vendors you can choose from that work with the Mobile Ads SDK and some may have paywall functionality.

This is not an answer.
The official google method offers no solutions?
There is something strange about this.
Something is escaping us

Hi there,

I’m with Aryeh’s team so let me assist you here.

Could you kindly confirm if the criterias mentioned here are all met on your end when it comes to serving ads (personalized or non-personalized) in connection with consent policies? Missing one of these may have an impact on ad serving via the SDK.

Let me know if this helps you and if you have further questions or clarifications.
