Android TV Admob support ? How do Android TV developers make money ?

Hi, 

I have an Android TV app that is capturing good users with every passing day. But now i want to monetize it. But i couldn't find anything on how to make money from Android TV app ? 

- Can we integrate Admob in Android TV app ? 
- If not, how do we make money from Android TV app ?

Admob SDK doesn't support Android TV, but can we add Ad mediation ? Does other networks like Facebook network audience, Unity would be able to show their Ads through mediation , or does the Admob blocks them too for TV ? 
Secondly, is there any other way through which developers make money from Android TV development ?

I work along with Ziv. As per your concern, the AdMob Mediation is a feature that lets you serve ads to your apps from multiple sources, including the AdMob Network and third-party ad networks. I'm afraid I cannot comment if the Third-party network supports ads on Android TV. With this, I would recommend contacting each Third-party ad network support channel respectively to get their insight regarding this. 

As per any other way to make money from Android TV development, you may want to consider IMA SDK for this.

Thank you Teejay for answering the questions. However, this leads to a few more questions: 

1. Since currently Admob doesn't support Android TV, and let's say in Ad mediation some other Ad source supports Android TV (which i'll research). If i use Ad Mediation, since Admob is default Ad source in Ad mediation, is it going to effect my account ? Like i heard some of the developers account were suspended who used Admob on Android TV . 


2. Thanks for recommending IMA SDK. I am looking into it now. I read that IMA SDK can serve Ads from Admob. But since Admob doesn't support Android TV. What Android source can IMA SDK uses for android TV ? Secondly, Does IMA SDK supports all TV devices ? There's a list that (link attached ) that says it list non-exhaustive list. Does that mean there are more devices supported, how do we check that ?

Let me do the best I can to answer your questions. 

If the third-party ad network supports Android TV, then technically this is possible on the mediation adapter as well. However, I could not comment if this permissible base on our policies. With this, I would recommend contacting out Product Support team to get a better insight on this.

As per the IMA SDK, I'm afraid I could not provide an insight as this is out of scope to our team. It would be best to contact our IMA SDK team through this forum for further assistance.
