Hi Julius,

As far as I know, there's really no way to detect AdBlock on devices.

My Question:
How can I detect that my app's banner adverts are blocked by another app?
I don't think the AdListener interface's methods are sufficient to distinguish normal network errors from those blocking apps.

Background:
ADP has been banned from Google Play, but the app is available and in popular demand:
Just check their website: "200 millions"

ADP is making money from blocking apps, when you pay them, they don't block your ads.
Yes, they are brutally honest about that:

In my eyes ADP is just another parasite like those "marketing experts" who offer fake ratings for money.

"(..) no way to detect AdBlock on devices" is absolutely false.
Let's just say that the topic is out of your interest.
@Julius: you have probably make some extra custom implementations: for example you could check that the device wasn't able to display any adv over a range time, check the hosts file, etc.

Good luck,
L.

@Julius, yes you can detect AdBlock.

I have done so in the past (along with a dozen or so other ad blockers). I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth worrying about them. So very little of my traffic (less than 1%) was affected and the I was going to have to maintain code for that small population.

It gets down to a business decision about whether the extra code to thwart those using ad blockers is worth the extra revenue you might gain. In the end I decided I got better value out of improving my app.

William
