I am using Admob to monetize my new game that I just sent for review on App Store Connect. I decided to use UMP SDK for iOS to get consent from the user for tracking. This ends up getting my app rejected with this message:

"We noticed you do not use App Tracking Transparency to request the user's permission before collecting data used to track them. Instead, your app displays a custom prompt that requests the user to allow tracking.

Starting with iOS 14.5, apps on the App Store need to receive the user’s permission through the AppTrackingTransparency framework before collecting data used to track them. Requesting permission with a custom prompt is not appropriate."

My question is WHY are you telling people to use this when Apple clearly doesn't want people to ask for consent this way?

Hi Kaan,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As per this article, it mentioned that all apps must use the AppTrackingTransparency framework to request the user’s permission to track them or to access their device's advertising identifier. Unless you receive permission from the user to enable tracking, the device's advertising identifier value will be all zeros and you may not track them. On the developer documentation guide, it mentioned that if you plan to use the UMP SDK to handle Apple's App Tracking Transparency requirements, ensure you've created, configured, and published your ATT message using AdMob Privacy & messaging.

For everyone who got rejected because of the default custom prompt message of the UMP, just change the default message to something like "Thank you for downloading the game" and don't have a message that says "Press allow" or something like that
