Hello guys,

My iOS app is suffering a sharp drop in ad requests, and therefore earnings for no apparent reasons.

As seen on the attached screenshot, the number of "requests dropped significantly on iOS for a few days and only re-bounce into reasonable numbers after two weeks.

This happened in June before but I didn't notice, now it just happened again.

During this period of time, there is absolutely no change in admob SDK implementation, or any ad category, or any ad settings.

No mediation network or any waterfall thingy configured.

No obvious change in active users, downloads, crashes, or uninstall statistics.

No policy issues or anything.

What could be the reason for the drop of requests and thus earnings?

p/s: No such issue on Android.

Hi Dora,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to your concern, you may check this article to know more about the common reasons for low match rate. It also mentioned that, your apps may experience less demand from Google while we evaluate your traffic quality. This can occur for up to one week after a new app or ad unit is created.

Hi Pamela,

Thanks for the reply.
I kind of understand that, if traffic quality is not good or something bad happens, matched rate will be low.
I also learnt that matched rate = successful matched request / total requests sent out from the app.
My problem now is that, my total requests hitting google server is dramatically low for a few weeks sometimes, which puzzles me alot (with no change in admob implementation for years).

Hi Dora,

With regard to your concern, I would recommend to kindly complete this form and provide details regarding the performance problems you're experiencing for the low ad request and revenue for your application. Kindly note that the SDK just requests an ad to the ad server (E.g: AdMob), and I'm afraid that it doesn't have any control on fill rate / match rate / impression of your app.
