Hi, As an SSP.
We have received a request from the developer to use Google Ad Manager (GAM) as the mediation server to fetch our ads. They have been using AdMob in the past, and we have provided them with instructions on integrating third-party networks through AdMob mediation, which has been functioning correctly for them. So as we know, they are able to fetch ads successfully using the Google Mobile Ads SDK through AdMob. If they now wish to transition to GAM, can they still achieve the same without any setup? Are there any relevant setup tutorials available?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Mobile Ads SDK team.

To integrate your application with GAM, Kindly follow the below steps:
  • Install the Google Mobile Ads SDK in your mobile app.
  • Implement network adapters for your respective platform to connect your app with each third-party ad network used for mediation.
  • Set up inventory in Ad Manager.
  • For more information go through Android and iOS.

Separate setup need to be done for GAM mediation, Get started with mediation article might help you with further proceedings.

HI thank you for your reply
We have already installed the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the application and set up ad resources in Ad Manager. Apart from the setup differences, it looks like there isn't much difference between implementing ads from AdMob. In the past, we have successfully retrieved ads from AdMob, so do I just need to change the ad unit IDs from AdMob to Ad Manager?

Hi,

Yes, the replacement of current AdMob ad unit identifiers with the corresponding identifiers from your Ad Manager account is a necessary step. Since you have already implemented the mobile ads SDK, most of the ad request code should remain similar.

If you were using mediation with AdMob, you will need to reconfigure it within the ad manager.

Please reach out to us, if you need any further assistance.

Thank you for your reply. And i have further question.
When we are setting up the AdMob ad unit, developers need to set the parameter part (as shown in the figure). Where do I ask developers to set this in Ad Manager?

Hi,

For Connecting Ad units to ad networks - while adding an ad unit mapping Choose the mapped inventory :

  • Select the corresponding "Partner inventory".
  • If you've connected to an available Bidder's API, additional parameters will automatically populate. Otherwise, click Manual entry to enter those parameters.

Kindly refer Add an ad unit mapping article for further assistance regarding adding an ad unit mapping.
