Hi
We have a problem with our iOS application where ads just stopped working in production. Application is configure to show ads only for release builds, for Test and Debug versions we use test ads.

Google Mobile Ads SDK is updated to latest version, and application is built with latest Xcode. We double checked everything in Google Ads Manager and contacted support via email and there still isn't any progress.
We tried sample application with our App Id and Ad unit iDs and the problem is the same.

Our setup is to use two different Ad unit IDs on two different screens in application, but Ad units have the same setup.

The only way I managed to show ads in application was to use release Bundle ID, and when I swapped Ad unit IDs. But that only worked when I've build application and run it on my phone. When that build was distributed via TestFlight ads weren't shown.

Also test ads appear without any problems.
Can You please help us because we don't know what else to try?

Kind regards,
Antun

HI Antun,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. There can be a few possible things that could be causing the ads to not appear. One, since the test ids are working, this makes us believe that the SDK is properly implemented. So the next thing is are you using real ads? If the device is not set up as a test device, this could get your account flagged. Also if this has been pushed to release you will need to link the app to your admob account. Also the fact that you have 2 different Ad Ids is fine this should not cause any issues. Also as this is production, we would say to read this article as it talks about some things with newer apps.

Hi William,
Thank you for the response.
Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. The problem is that this is not a new application. It's been on the AppStore for more than 9 years. We weren't using real ads on test devices. The ads stopped showing at the beginning of this year.
There is one more thing that I'm not clear about. We are using Ad Manager to set up Ad Unit IDs, and nobody from the office has access to Ad Mob where I could check the things that are mentioned in the article that You've shared with me.
If I try to log in to Ad Mob, it says that I already have a Google publisher account for Ad Sense and Ad Manager, and I'm unable to create an Ad Mob account (there is an error message saying: "An error occurred. Please try again later."). Is there a way to check the things mentioned in the article using Ad Manager?

Kind regards,
Antun

Hi Antun,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Could you confirm if you've implemented the Google Mobile Ads SDK for Ad Manager? If so, could you kindly provide the following details for us to investigate your concern further?
  • App ID
  • Ad Unit IDs (and its ad format)
  • Error code that you're getting when ads failed to load
