"Rewarded Ads – Misleading Disclosure"

Please can an Admob rep/engineer help with the above issue.

We have read the guidelines multiple times. As best we can tell all our apps comply with the guidelines, however we now have 2 apps being threatened with restricted ad serving.

We seem unable to get any response from anyone via the Review process - where we have asked for some clarity on exactly what Admob have decideded the problem is. 

Right now the 'request review' simply seems to generate a 'review rejected' with NO info on how we can proceed.

We believe we very clearly
i) state exactly what you receive in return for watching the ad
ii) state user will watch an advert
iii) the reward is only redeemable within the app + on the same page of the app from which the ad is requested
iv) there are no random elements to a reward
v) there is only 1 reward so its can only be the 1 item that is problematic.

It seems that you've encounter a policy violation in your rewarded ads which is the "Misleading Disclosure". As per Google Publisher policy, we do not allow content that:

  • misrepresents, misstates, or conceals information about the publisher, the content creator, the purpose of the content, or the content itself.
  • falsely implies having an affiliation with, or endorsement by, another individual, organization, product, or service.
  • Examples: Impersonating Google products, misusing company logos

Unsurprisingly we have read that information and cannot see how any of the policy gets even vaguely close to applying to the information we present.

We believe the text is very clear on exactly who/what/why the rewarded ad exists, what it provides the end user, why they might want to watch an advert and cannot possibly be construed as having any affliation/endorsement etc with any other organization, product or service, falsely or otherwise. 

'Product Support Team' appear unable to even reply (in 1 month) let alone provide any clues as to what exactly they believe the issue is. 

So where does that leave us??? 

Please can someone at Google (Admob/Ads SDK / Product support) take some responsibility and tell us EXACTLY what issue they have chosen to apply to the text we present so we stand half a chance of changing the text to satisfy the policy.
