About the Job

• Our Performance Engineering team is looking for a Performance Test - Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help improve and validate performance of the website, applications and interfaces.
• The Performance Test SRE will need to analyze new product Features and User-Stories, identify potential performance impacts, and develop performance tests/code/scripts to measure and validate performance of new customer-facing functionality before they are launched to production.
• This position will require strong analytical and multi-tasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• The Performance Tester will need in-depth knowledge of Performance Testing best practices, Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, and ability to develop performance tests and monitoring in Soasta CloudTest, LoadRunner, EFK, etc.
• The Performance Tester will also need to have in-depth understanding of React UI and Java & Spring/Boot Microservice technology stack and architecture.
• This position will require strong technical and communication skills.
• This position will work with Development teams and Performance Engineers.

 

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View

• Lead all aspects of Performance Testing including test requirements, test planning, complex test scripting for UI and back-end systems, test harness design, test execution, results analysis and results reporting
• Analyze new product Features and User-Stories, identify potential performance impacts, create performance testing requirements, and develop code/script solutions that will test and validate performance of new customer-facing functionality before they are launched to production.
• Drive performance issue resolution, direct triage, drive participation and discussion, execute crisp and effective communications on Performance results
• Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices within Performance testing initiatives
• Designs, develops, implements and maintains test processes and diagnostic programs for assigned projects.
• Find the root cause of performance bottlenecks using performance monitoring and profiling tools
• Experience in running high volume loadtests, do analysis and publish reports

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited College or University
• 5(+) years of software development experience
• 5(+) years of experience in Performance testing and performance analysis
• 2(+) years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering and operations for internet/eCommerce applications.
• Experience leading all aspects of Performance Testing including test requirements, test planning, complex test scripting for UI and back-end systems, test harness design, test execution, results analysis and results reporting
• Skilled in performance testing tools such as Soasta mPulse and CloudTest, test methodologies, and Performance testing plans/deliverables
• Ability to drive functional and technical triage for performance issues, drive issue resolution, direct triage, drive participation and discussion, execute crisp and effective communications, and strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Programming skills including React UI, Java/Spring/Boot Microservices and Elasticsearch development.
• Expertise with analyzing code and systems in a multi-tiered architecture
• Azure / AWS
• Experience with EFK, Dynatrace, Quantum Metric or similar tools
• Solutions oriented with proven success in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills.
