Location: Austin, TX (Remote)

Duration: 6+ months

 

USC/GC only

 

Must have AWS also

Job Description:

Required Skills: Oracle; MySQL; MongoDB; Amazon Web Services RDS;

Preferred Skills: AWS RDS/AURORA

 

∙       8-10 years of experience, with at least the last 3-5 years as Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL/MongoDB DBA on all aspects in a large/challenging database environment on AWS/Unix / Linux platform.

∙       Oracle SQL, PL/SQL programming

∙       Experience on Amazon Web Services is a plus.

∙       Linux and Redhat clustering experience and scripting is a plus

∙       Skilled in SQL statement tuning with detailed understating of AWR reports, database performance tuning.

∙       Willingness to work on-call DBA rotations in a 24X7 environment

 

Responsibilities

∙       Advanced Oracle Database 11g/19c administration skills and experience required.

∙       Working knowledge of some other database technology like Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, or MongoDB and MS SQL Server are desired.

∙       AWS cloud experience is a plus.

∙       Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

∙       Oracle database PL/SQL and query performance tuning skills needed.

∙       Ability to perform physical database design changes according to requirements established during logical data modeling activity.

∙       Performs database migrations, upgrades and structure migrations from premise database to AWS.

∙       Ability to run transaction access path analysis with application developers to ensure database design and application code is efficient. Make recommendations for improvements.

∙       Coordinate and participate in database stress testing and make recommendations for improvements.

∙       Develops and maintains database standards that fit with standard development processes.

∙       Monitors database performance and tunes where needed.

∙       Complies with all security and audit standards.

∙       Participates in 7x24 rotating on-call nights and weekends as needed.
