Hello all – If you’re looking for ways to boost organizational effectiveness and have some funds available for that purpose, here’s an opportunity:

There are still spaces available for The Law Project’s new nonprofit compliance program.

This new program is designed to be attended by both the board chair or president and the executive director, and there is a significant discount when two participants from the same organization attend. Registration details are at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/nonprofit-compliance-two-part-series-42115-42315-tickets-15932723204?aff=erelexporg.

April 21 (9am-12pm): Legal Issues in Nonprofit Governance and Employment - Learn fiduciary duties, roles and responsibilities for board directors and officers, the executive director’s role, best practices and policies of good governance, including how to address conflicts of interest and whistleblower situations, as well as tips for recruiting and orienting a diverse and skilled board of directors. We will also cover employment law basics including worker classification and required documentation.

April 23 (9am-12pm): General Nonprofit Compliance - The laws applicable to nonprofit organizations can be complicated, and this session will provide an overview of annual reporting requirements, record-keeping and legal requirements for donor thank-you letters and quid pro quo issues, a refresher on political activity prohibitions and lobbying restrictions as well as an overview of unrelated business taxable income.

Also, the Employer Hotline is up and running and the next free consultation date is April 23rd
