Hello all,
The Food to Market Challenge is a $500,000 challenge award offered by Food:Land:Opportunity, an initiative of the Searle Funds at the Chicago Trust.
"The Food to Market Challenge will attract
and inspire multidisciplinary teams to propose innovative solutions to re-conceive supply chain practices that today limit the scale or efficiency of the local food market. Innovative is defined as either new and breakthrough concepts or tried and tested methodologies
that when applied differently yield greater results. Teams competing in the Food to Market
Challenge will:
-
include one local and sustainable food, livestock, or poultry grower whose operation is in the Chicago foodshed, defined as a 250-mile radius outside of the city;
-
propose a solution that serves the Chicago region of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties; and
-
be entrepreneurial problem solvers made up of at least two organizations or individuals."
And go for it.
