Central and Provincial Advisory Committees of Good Governance Forum
As a prelude to holding the media conferences in Islamabad as well as the provincial headquarters for introducing the Research and Reform Agenda 2015 of the Good Governance Forum and the office-bearers of its central and provincial advisory committees, we have set the deadline of 15 June 2015 to finalize the formation of all the committees.
Details of the Research and Reform Agenda 2015 can be viewed at
Each committee will have a chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, public relations secretary and finance secretary. More office bearers can be added at the discretion of each committee's chairperson.
Each chairperson will be responsible for the formation and the functioning of each committee on the reform sector assigned to him/her. Following are the reform sectors notified by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms as under:
Civil Services, Police and Criminal Justice System, Education and Health, Ease of Doing Business, Accountability and Transparency, e-Governance, State Owned Enterprises, Legal Reforms, Post 18th Amendment Challenges and Opportunities, Effective Local Government, Performance Management Systems in Public Sector, Service Delivery and Citizens Charters, Regulatory Bodies.
The aforesaid list of reform sectors is not final for us. We can add more sectors wherever needed in our sole discretion.
Each office bearer of the committee will pay one-time fee of Rs 10,000 to the Good Governance Forum. The members of each committee will pay one-time fee of Rs 5000. However, the chairperson of each committee is empowered to waive off the fee for any office bearer or the member for special reasons in his/her sole discretion.
The money collected from the fee will be dedicated for meeting the expenses of media conferences in Islamabad and the provincial headquarters.
At the moment, the Good Governance Forum will not be extending any financial support to the committees and their office bearers. However, it has plans to hold special events such as seminars, conferences, youth events, women's events, senior citizens' events etc in coordination with the committees. These events are expected to be sponsored by the business community/government/international civil society organizations and the funds generated can be utilized for meeting the expenses of the committees and its office bearers whatever possible. At the same time, the forum will nominate specific office bearers/members to the government for appointment as paid consultants or members of government committees/panels against perks and privileges. The forum will also nominate the office bearers and the members to seminars and other special events of the government, NGOs and civil society organizations within and outside Pakistan.
All the office bearers will be entitled to carry the business cards of the committee including his/her name, designation, committee's name, photograph and mobile number. The printing and delivery cost will be borne by each office bearer. Alternatively, he/she can get them printed as per the standard design of the Good Governance Forum.
All those learned ladies and gentlemen who are ready to join us as office bearers or members are requested to please complete the documentation by sending us their individual profiles and one-time membership fee by 5th June 2015. Those who are not interested may also please send us their regrets.
I hope reminders will not be needed to invoke response from the learned ladies and gentlemen.
Regards.
