Baked Beans #1 Use an oven-safe pot or transfer the beans to an oven-safe dish before baking. You can add a bit of flavor to this by adding crumbled or diced bacon with the rest of the ingredients. You can also substitute beef bouillon for some of the water. Serves 10. 220 Calories, 30 grams net carbs, 1 gram fat per serving.
3 cups dried navy beans 1 tsp salt 9 cups water 6 Tbsp brown sugar 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion 1/4 cup BBQ sauce 1 Scant Tbsp molasses
Rinse the beans with cold water. Cook beans in a pot of water with a teaspoon of salt until they are tender. Leave liquid on the beans and add the remaining ingredients. Bake at 350° F for 90 minutes.
