Hi Coach Yates,

I hope you are having a great summer!  There is a rumor that you are going to be running some type of training session this summer to replace the Cross Fit that Mr. Hare used to run.  Is there any truth to that rumor? I have incoming freshmen twins who had hoped to do Cross fit while they are in summer school.  (full disclosure -- they are soccer players --not really interested in wrestling).

Thanks, Mary Krivda

Hello All,

Just wanted to shoot out another quick note about our off-season.

Workouts are being held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 11a in the Weight Room for our boys.  Open Mats will run from 1215p to 115p on the same days of the week.  Our youth league camp will take place during the week of the 24th.  Your sons are encouraged to help out at the camp and take advantage of the mat time as we will hold sessions for them as well. Available wrestlers may report tomorrow and make sure they are in team gear.  We can accomplish a a lot over the summer and into the fall.  Also we have about 10 wrestlers committed to attending the navy camp session three which commences on the 7th of July.  Please check your schedules and see if the family is in town and available for your wrestler to participate as this will be a great team building experience.    Below is the Session III Breakdown.

Technique Camp Session III.
July 7-11
Session III
What a great experience for wrestlers at any level! The Navy Wrestling Technique Camp offers world class technique and world class fun. Navy's Head coach Bruce Burnett has developed a technique plan based on fundamental skills that can be learned by a novice wrestler and improve the performance of elite athletes. Burnett was the U.S. National Team Coach and served as a U.S. Olympic Coach in the last three Olympic Games. The technique Burnett shared with the Olympic Athletes is the same technique he will share here at the Navy Wrestling Camp. Groups will be divided by age and skill level to help ensure that each camper receives the best instruction for their level of experience. Each camper will have access to the well supervised facilities at the Naval Academy. Click on the session below that you are interested in to see in depth details of each camp that is offered is summer.
