mention of the apparel launch and tourney is toward the end of the post.

Last night I stopped by the Capitol City Hoop Classic Kickoff/MY lifestyle clothing launch at Sports Zone Elite at National Harbor. The Hoop Classic, which will be held May 25-27 and feature about 80 AAU teams ages 8U to 15U, isn't your typical tournament. Along with the games, participants will be treated to a grab bag of gear and financial literacy programming. As Monica McNutt wrote in her Transition Game column last month, educating kids with life skills like financial literacy while presenting them with a model of professionalism is essential in a time when the pipe dreams of athletes often leads youth to dead ends and bankruptcy court. And that's what this tournament is all about. Big ups to event organizers Mark Tillmon and Mel George for pushing this message forward.

Thanks so much for supporting.

Congrats to the team for a job well done yesterday.  Despite our challenges with the administration of Gonzaga, we finished in 4th place.  Congratulations to Seniors Logan Leathers, Nick Von Utter, and David Tondreau.  We are looking very good for the 2013-2014 season.

Where do we go from here?  Those who have sons who are not participating in spring sports, training will continue thru March 16-17 where Gonzaga will host the regional MAWA tournament.

We will be lifting, running, and wrestling from now until November.  Stay Tuned for updates.  Several wrestlers have been notified about our expectations in the off-season.  There are a couple of camps that I would prefer we participate in as a team and we will be holding a few camps at Gonzaga for both high schoolers and youth league wrestlers.

Great Season!
