Roman Abramovich’s Eclipse was previously the biggest luxury sea vessel ever
built and cost him a staggering $1.5 billion. The one-of-a-kind vessel has its own
missile defense system, submarine, and helipad. It’s one of the greatest yachts
ever designed.
Look familiar at all? You might recognize the yacht as the one recently purchased
by JK Rowling, and you’d be right. Johnny Depp sold the yacht to the writer. Under
his command, it was initially named Vajoliroja and later called Amphitrite.

in which troublesome pirates took to the seas…
Nichole Kidman owns a $4.5 million yacht called the Hokulani. Though it must
be an incredibly luxurious thing to ride on and looks stunning, it angered Sydney
residents when the actor left it moored at a wharf, blocking their views.
Beyonce and Jay Z have enjoyed holidays on the Galactica Star, a yacht which
is worth $50 million and reportedly costs $900,000 a week to rent. The couple
will have enjoyed the beach club, Jacuzzi, helipad and gallery which are all
on board.
Bill Gates is a busy man and so usually rent yachts worth up to $330 million.
The above vessel is owned by Russian vodka mogul Yuri Scheffler and was
rented by Gates for $5 million a week. It has a nightclub, 24 cabins, a climbing
wall and a submarine.
The mega-yacht La Regina d’Italia is owned by the world famous designers
Dolce & Gabbana. As well as being used for holidays and luxury trips around
the Mediterranean, the yacht has also hosted fashion shoots and runway events.
Tiger Woods is a world famous golfer who’s as well known for his tumultuous
personal life as he is for time on the golf course. His private luxury yacht is
fittingly called ‘Privacy’.
Sir Philip Green is one of the most hated men of 2016. He’s being investigated
for the collapse of shopping line BHS. With MPs petitioning to have him stripped
of his knighthood, the businessman must be reconsidering his yacht called
‘Lionheart’.
Leonardo DiCaprio might be a generous actor who dedicated his Oscar awards
speech to pursuing better a greener future, but that didn’t stop him from hiring
a luxury yacht out in 2014 to watch the World Cup with his friends.
The guitarist of the band U2, best known as The Edge, bought himself a $12
million yacht in 2008. The yacht might not be the biggest but it’s a moderate
140-foot vessel which contains six generous cabins and can sleep up to
12 guests.
The Va Bene is a luxury yacht which has been owned by guitarist Eric Clapton
since 2005. The yacht reportedly cost $9 million and was built in 1992 by Kees Cornelissen. It’s 156 ft 9 in long and powered by Intrepid Tender engines.

and looks very inviting.
Okay, well Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Yas might not be the most
well-known celebrity but we had to include him due to his incredible yacht Yas.
It’s 463 ft long, can accommodate 60 guests and 56 cabin crew, and reaches
speeds of 26 knots.
While news circulated in 2014 that Hollywood’s power couple Brad Pitt & Angelina
jolie had bought a £250 million yacht, the evidence to the contrary would suggest
that the couple simply preferred to rent vessels for their family holidays.
We wonder if they’ll take trips to sea out separately now they’re divorcing?
Roberto Cavalli owns a yacht fittingly named ROBERTO CAVALLI (RC), which
measures 134ft long and can accommodate eight guests and four crew members.
The vessel is fast and travels up to 29 knots, generating a total 7400hp.
Even the royals are at it! Prince William & Kate Middleton have had more fun
than most on yachts, cruising around on holiday with Pippa Middleton and friends,
and, more recently, racing in Auckland – Kate won.
The CEO of GoPro bought himself a 180ft yacht worth $50 million back in 2015.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson clearly have great taste in boats as the couple
rented the world’s largest sailing yacht. It’s called Phocea and it measures
246ft long it’s a truly stunning four-sailed masterpiece. No castaways here!
Larry Page owns a $45 million 193ft-long luxury yacht complete with a helipad
and gym and multiple sun decks. The founder of Google bought the 1999 boat
Senses in 2011. It has 10 suites and requires a crew of up to 14.
Steven Spielberg’s yacht is one of the best, or it was until he sold the $184 million
vessel. It was a 282-foot vessel, with a 15-foot glass movie screen, helipad and
infinity pool. The last news was that Spielberg was looking to upgrade…
if that’s possible.
Pro Basketball player Latrell Sprewell sold his $1.5 million yacht after he couldn’t
return the payments on it and was facing repossessions. It’s a good lesson to all
you aspiring basketball players out there – don’t buy a yacht if you can’t afford it!
Amazingly, the 2016 Rio Olympic park was not completely finished when the

as it’s very much the done thing for the celebrity classes. Sometimes you’ve

you want? The Virgin owner has a luxurious 32-meter catamaran called the
Necker Belle. It can reportedly be rented to the public for $110,000 a week
David Geffen owns the 138-meter Rising Sun yacht, which has been rented by
many notable celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio. The yacht is worth an
estimated $300 million and can carry 16 guests and 30 members of the cabin crew.
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is often cited by the media as having bought a
yacht, however, she’s more often than not cruising on one of her wealthy friends’
boats.
