I am trying to Install Illustrator version 9 64 bit and 10 Upgrade. I had these installed before on windows XP but since upgrading to windows 7 I can no longer install from the disks I have (they are 32bit versions). I tried installing from disks but they do not work, I believe I need a different version that is compatible with windows 7. I tried going to the download section and downloading a few different things hoping one would be illustrator 9 and 10 but I can't seem to find the proper downloads. Is someone able to please link me 64bit downloads for Illustrator version 9 and version 10 upgrade. I have both serial keys, hopefully 64bit version exists and my cd-keys will still work.
Thanks for that lucid explanation! One aspect of CS6 that struck me was the much increased system requirements: 2GB RAM, with 8GB recommended. This compares (unfavourably) with CS5's requirement of 1GB. It makes me wonder how much slower 64-bit Illustrator might be on an older system -- or even a fairly new one with "only" 4GB, as is standard with a MacBook Pro.
Please Gordy... saying that due to 64-bit, you can now for example, rename a layer "inline" is just silly. Freehand users have been able to do this for some 15 years using a 32-bit program.
Also, how about a consistent framework between programs within CS6. Small example: why, when scaling using Option-click... are the dialogs completely different between ID and AI?
Font Toolbar: nice that you can scroll through to view text, however, if you want to see the fonts "displayed", you have to go to the Menu or the Character palette to see them all?
Inconsistency between programs and even within them, overlapping of functions and features, and the worst problem using AI is the insistence to have 2 arrow pointers.
Someone at Adobe really should take a good look at the "killed" Freehand and see how they were able to create a VECTOR program, with minimal overhead or overlap, that to this day, still outperforms AI CS6 in day-to-day tasks... and don't get me started on the pathetic handling of text within AI!!!
Haven't tested AICS6 yet, still as far as I have read here and somewhere else, this "new" 64-bit functions kind of sound to me.
You can do that since version 8 of Freehand that is way too old to even remember.
Totally agree with DocPixel. And BTW, at least, let the engineers of the InDesign team put hands on Illustrator. Take that free advice. Yes.
I installed the CS6 Master Upgrade yesterday and almost all of the apps are working correctly. However, when I try to open Illustrator CS6 64-bit it returns this error message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." The 32-bit version works correctly. Any suggestions or similar cases? Thanks.
I feel like I need to chime in here. I just installed my new Master Collection of CS6 all my x64 applications were working with the exception of Illustrator x64. I Googled the heck out of this and found so much back and forth between adobe saying it's a microsoft issue (.net framework and redistributables) and microsoft saying it's an Adobe issue.
copying the .dll's in the programs folder really worked, i found the x86 dlls online that fixed my x86 of illustrator, also fixed in-design, premiere pro just crashes doesnt error, but premiere pro cc 2015 running ok
I selected Repair instead of uninstall and the process was succesful, then I tried to start Illustrator and the error message 0xc000007b apperared again, then I selected and repaired succesfully Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) 11.0... and after this repair illustrator started without problems.
hi!, well i have done all the solutions that all of you have wrote here and my illustrator dont start, also i tried to substitute the .dll file from the adobe web site and still dont start... i just want to know if the SQL libraries from the Visual Studio 2012 affects the same way as the C++ libraries, does it ?
Adobe Illustrator is a commercial graphics editor for creating vector images. It's now integrated into the Creative Cloud suite. As the most popular vector graphics tool in its category, the application is the ideal program for creating logos, icons and other types of vector images that can be sized automatically to the screen they're being displayed on without loss of quality. If the tool is one of the most adored in graphics, it is because of its diverse and varied options.Creation of logos, icons and other vector imagesTraditionally, Adobe Illustrator is used to create icons and logos. Even though it can be used in a more diverse way, it allows you to manipulate the paths via its Pathfinder feature.Editing the style of objects allows you to include colors, depth, custom outlines and transparency on the tool to be enhanced. Even though this application offers many tools and options, there may be a bit of a learning curve to get used to the application; that's why getting started with online tutorials isn't a bad place to start. Thanks to the almost 20,000 text fonts available, any creativity at the font level will be available in the program. In addition, new ones can always be added quickly and easily. Not just for designersIf you think that the software is only for designers, think again. Downloading Adobe Illustrator can help you complement the use of other software, with or without the Creative Cloud including Photoshop. The design software has an almost infinite number of tools to get the most out of it. From filters to composition elements, Adobe Illustrator incorporates it within its possibilities.ConclusionIt is worth mentioning that Adobe has an infinite number of subscription plans for its programs, including one for students and teachers, which is cheaper than the usual ones on the web. Likewise, there are also plans for companies that require its tools. All in all, it's definitely a good idea to get started for the first time with software like this with a trial version because learning it takes a little time. Download of Adobe Illustrator CC is free and involves using the Creative Cloud.Features of Adobe Illustrator CC
If either of those suggestions do now work then its the file itself causing issues, to test the file try using a separate workstation with illustrator installed, or open it in another Adobe product that will open it besides reader, Photoshop, Bridge etc...
I was browsing Internet for some hints, but did not find anything yet. And the communication is a bit missleading, one say it won't work, becuase of 32-bit references, another claim it should work, because CS6 Illustrator itself is 64-bit.
I can't seem to find any solid documentation on that topic.Does anyone had similar issue and found and solutions or workarounds?(Updating all the adobe software to single version is out of question sadly)
This also happens for symbols along a line, it will display a "?" or other wing-dings. This may not be an Esri issue, but it is frustrating! I've read another community post that solved font display issues by unchecking "Embed fonts" upon export ( -maps-for-adobe-creative-cloud-questions/font-bug-opening-aix-in...). We tried this and it did fix some of the symbol/font issues, although not all of them. Doesn't seem like much of a solution to export the file with the w/ Embed fonts turned off, especially when embedding fonts is supposed to help ensure the fonts display correctly. And, turning it off semi-fixes the very task that it's supposed to do! I've uinstalled and reinstalled the fonts which did not fix the problem either. I checked the stylx file to ensure that the correct font is being referenced in the symbol properties. Had the same issue in .aix and after saving as an .ai file too. Any help would be appreciated and would like to hear if anyone else has had this problem.
The reason this happens is because all the workstations for the designers have improved, all the other machines have improved. Things just get bigger and better, and drawings more detailed. Who in the world would use "cylinder shapes" with more than 16-24 polys earlier, my first 3Ds would choke on 64 for ten orbs. Now every tube is 64, and since we do a lot of them things get big. Our designers are spoiled with RAM and power to back it up.
Unfortunately illustrator has not kept up, yet Adobe Acrobat has no problem whatsoever with the same drawings.
