My preference is to install all my software programs (Office etc.) on the SSD drive for simplicity and orderliness. All my files, photos, documents on the HDD. But I'm not sure how this affects overall speed and performance.
You should install Photoshop on the same drive that contains your operating system because if you install only Photoshop on the SSD, It would only 'run' faster if the data files that Photoshop is reading or writing are also on the SSD. Otherwise, opening/start-up/loading are the only areas that you'd see improvement in speed.
Plus when I opened my Lightroom and Photoshop from the SSD and deleted from my Harddrive, Adobe said I had to instal the programs, so clearly I need to reinstall from the beginning so it knows its now longer located on the main hard drive?
If your system drive is running low on space, clean it out. There is always a lot of junk that can be removed. Most of it is in your user account, where it accumulates and piles up over time.
On Windows there is a superb little utility called WinDirStat, which shows you in a graphical interface exactly what is filling up your drive, and exactly where it is. There is a Mac equivalent, but I can't remember what it's called.
Keep it simple. The system drive should contain the OS and all your applications. All of them, but nothing else. With a fairly normal configuration of applications (including a range of CC apps), all of this should not take up much more than 90-110 GB. Anything more than that, and you can start cleaning up.
I just had this problem too. Except I was selecting a bunch of images to create a photomerge. In my windows system, it displayed that I had a Bridge 2021 version and 2022. I uninstalled the 2021 version in my system's settings. Adobe CC popped up and asked if I wanted to delete the app from my system. I said yes and it only deleted the 2021 version and kept the 2022 version, without needing to redownload it. After this I was able to select my photos and move them onto photoshop. Hope this helps
I'm getting the same error message.
I tried both of your suggestions but neither worked.
I want to run Bridge 2022 rather than 2023 becase it's dead slow and doesn't have the "ew Window" option I need.
I have the latest version of Photoshop.
That's your problem: To be in "harmony," Bridge and PS need to be of the same vintage. Thus, if you want to use Bridge 2022, you need to install PS 2022. Also, it's important to install PS AFTER you install Bridge so PS can see that it's there and install the PS Scripts seen in the Tools menu.
Even with the latest version it does not work. Something in the code line is broken and ADOBE needs to fix it. I will not be allowing my students to use it until such a time and will show them how crappy adobe is compared to apple and why they should be buying apple software for video and photo editing. Super sad to see how Adobe is handling this. Defend them all you want but they have an issue.
After 5 hours of fighting all the versions and testing it this is the combo that worked for me. You can not have more than one version of PhotoShop on your machine at a time. Make sure you only have one version. Once you get the combo that works for you write it down incase you accidently update and you can then go back to what you were using.
@pankajg6675616 this association of Bridge version and Photoshop / ACR version is extremely customer unfriendly. You stick to this hostile strategy, even in a situation where many paying customers struggle with the most recent Bridge versions.
Ok, I installed Bridge 2023, don't like if for a couple of reasons, so uninstalled, but I now can't use any automated PS scripts from the old 2022 Bridge like 'load files into Phootoshop layers. I get the same error script. I've reset Bridge completely, made no issues, really don't want to have to uninstall/reinstall the whole lot, it's a pain. Is there a workaround. I'm guessing it's a registry issue to dow with path names etc. I'll reinstall the older version of PS to see if it makes any difference.
During the printer install, it recognized LRC and installed the proper plug-in for printing from LRC but, the install did NOT recognize PS and did NOT install the plug-in so that I could print from PS using File/Automate/pluginname.
The video is worth watching but, it does NOT address the issue I reported. When I ran the driver install, everything worked accordingly but the install program ONLY RECOGNIZED LRC and did NOT install the PS Plug-in files Consequently, PPL is not listed in File/Automate within Photoshop.
The printer driver for Apple can be an issue and in Ventura I don't event see where I can change the driver.
BUT I did manage to download the new drivers and my PPL now works in Photoshop again. That info is in the very first 10 minutes.
Me and my colleagues creative cloud apps are not installing plugins when we double click the .ccx files.
We have tried old trusted and tested plugins and newer ones. none want to install. If i double click the .ccx, a cmd window flashes up and disappears again and then nothing happens.
The official Adobe guide is here: Find solutions for installation issues with Creative Cloud app extensions and plugins although it could use some updates about installing CCX files from outside the Marketplace.
@agandhi and @pkrishna please note that requesting such a feature from the Creative Cloud desktop app team would unburden me, the community of developers, and potentially the review team of support requests like this one.
The plugins we built for use internally, read and write from very specific locations when working in the background, so having the plugin installed in a location other than what the original was designed for caused issues. I did the UPI route using shell. That installed the plugin but it installed into a strange location and was not compatible with the plugin as it was installed in a different location compared to a creative cloud install. This method also caused headaches for debugging. I was not able to update the plugin easily.
I've used Photoshop for 10+ years, and I have PS brush sets that I have bought. Might they work in AffinityPhoto? If I want to install one or more of them to test, how do I go about that? Is it just go to Brushes, and pull down the tab to Import Brushes? Or, should they go in a separate folder, named something like Photoshop Brushes?
Thank you. Oh, and equally important, if I decide I want to get rid of them, do I just "Export Brushes"? Or does that just send a duplicate of the brushes out? Is there a way to delete any brushes that remain in the application?
If you imported those new brushes into a new category, (which hopefully you did), you can delete that category from the same hamburger menu - however - ensure that the new category is selected in the dropdown menu, AND that only the newly imported brushes are in that category, otherwise you will lose the pre-installed brushes !!!!!!
Also, if you import the .abr as a bundle, they will automatically be inside their own category bearing the name of the file. So myawesomebrushes.abr imported, will create the myawesomebrushes category with the brushes inside.
Go to the Adobe website on safari browser click onto the Mac version of photoshop it should download & in downloads after the download has completed you should find a .dmg double click the dmg file you may have to go to file vault & unlock with your computers password you should be guided through the process & drag the photoshop file into your application folder. When you open photoshop for the first time on your machine you will be given a 30 day free trial. After that you will need to purchase a licence to continue to use the program. I wish you all the success in the future.
Simply download Photoshop from the Creative Cloud website and install it on your desktop.
When you start the Photoshop download, confirm the download in your browser. After downloading the Photoshop_Installer.dmg file to your Mac, click the Downloads folder on the Dock and run it. After the Installer is mounted on your system, double-click the logo to install Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop.
Close any unnecessary applications running in the background during the installation. This can prevent conflicts that might interfere with the installation process.
Run Installer as Administrator:
Look for installation logs or error messages. These logs can provide clues about what went wrong. You can usually find logs in the installation directory or in system logs.
Download and Install Manually:
