If you had downloaded CDH v5.13 docker image, then the issue might be mostly due to the structure of the image archive; in my case, I found it to be clouder*.tar.gz > cloudera*.tar > cloudera*.tar ! Seems the packaging was done by fault and the official documentation too doesn't capture this :( In which case, just perform one more level of extraction to get to the correct cloudera*.tar archieve. I have downloaded VM from the cloudera site. I was trying to open the VM by using the VM ware workstation 11, whenever i try to play the virtual machine it just blinks with black screen for a second and goes away. I could not find whats going on. I was able to play the same VM a month ago on windows 7 64 bit system. Can any body please have a look at the attached log file and help me out.
That configuration option will prevent Workstation from notifying you of all sorts of problems... I advise removing it: Quit Workstation, then open C:\Mywork\Hadoop\cloudera-quickstart-vm-5.3.0-0-vmware\cloudera-quickstart-vm-5.3.0-0-vmware.vmx in a text editor and remove that line from the file, then relaunch Workstation and open the VM again.
