as for most of you, flyff also means a lot to me since it was basically the first online game that i ever saw back when i was still in school xD. I got in touch with it because some friends started talking about it until one day i visited one watching him playing flyff. So i started to play it too and since my friends were already around lvl70ish, running around with cool sets and weapons and the better class, i just wanted to reach that point of the game too.
Now, after a lot of years with (hopefully xD) a bigger brain, and the v7 web flyff in the horizon, i would like to understand the game a bit further and prepare some "goals" beforehand so i can enjoy the game by chasing defined milestones. And iam not a big fan of investing reallife money into games so i think with this in mind i can forget to reach something like Master/Hero anyways.
No disrespect to the devs who put their everything into reviving it, making it prettier, and implementing cross platform. but like... y'all didn't see ANYTHING wrong with the way gpotato ran their flyff???? Why are we following in their footsteps?
Most people agree that the flyff economy is messed up, and a lot of people are asking the question: WHY is it broken already, so close to it's release date? I'd like to share some thoughts on it, as well as a few possible solutions. Essentially I'm going to say a lot of things that have already been said, but maybe hit some points that others have overlooked (maybe?)
Here is the problem unique to FlyFF universe, as opposed to other "new" games...this game is so similar to original/old flyff, that people already know how to play the game. These people didn't just learn how to generate penya last week - they have over 10 years of practice. And a HUGE number of people playing this game are knowledgeable about how to do this - on a great scale.
Awakes. One of the formerly OP parts of flyff was awakes. Now ,the devs have made it their goal to not let awakes break the game. Cool, I respect that. But making it CS only...is not gonna help the economy. People are gonna still not be burning penya to take advantage of awakes. So there is the potential for a great money sink - and the means to make blues more useful.
Because of this, several aspiring swindlers have resorted to underhanded tactics to dupe unsuspecting or hurried players into becoming unknowing sponsors for their account(s); including the mod of the /r/flyffuniverse subreddit itself, masquerading his referral link in the major announcement post on the matter. (EDIT: They have since remade their post and included the correct link. How cheeky.) (EDIT 2: Nevermind, it's back to being a sponsor referral link AGAIN. Just don't use it.)
