Well I've been putting this off but as we have a scheduled meeting tomorrow...

Since there were only 5 people at the last two meetings (including
Wayne and I) there's no presentation or business to deal with.

Is anyone up for a purely social gathering?

Nothing wrong with spending a Tuesday night hanging out with other geeks. That's pretty much been the whole point of GOLUM for a while now anyway.

Would we still meet at Southwest? If not, I can't participate.

Jonathan

I was thinking of finding somewhere nearby. I can pick you up if need be.

For all I care, we could just meet at the chess center and order pizza. It would give us something to do as well; I'd be happy to showcase the physical infrastructure there and show off the capabilities of a Linux server to anyone interested. There is a big, fat, quad-core rack server in the storage room that serves virtual machines, thin clients, web servers, git repositories, etc.

My, you've been busy! Works for me.

If anyone is interested, I'm also now the MythTV maintainer for Fedora
(via RPM Fusion). I don't claim to be an expert but the current
maintainer doesn't use it anymore and I still rely on it for OTA HD
recordings. At some point I could give a demo/presentation but unless
more than 5 people are going to show up it's not worth the effort.

I haven't really been able to make it to any meetings, but I'll be there tomorrow when I get done with work.

What's the address again? I'll post it to the golum homepage.

Good one Jonathan, especially since you enrolled in the UNIX/Linux Concentration at Southwest this fall. Moving the meeting away from the campus will now allow you to skip class and attend without the instructor finding out. Maybe :)

Wayne  aka Prof. Morris

P.S. I moved the 1st U/L course to a Monday evening and the U/L Sys Admin to a Wednesday evening for the spring semester so everyone can attend the meetings.

Prof. Sweeney knows that I will miss a class or two for GOLUM; we discussed that at the very start of the semester.

I've added a post to golum.org. Take a look and let me know if I need
to change anything.

Oh, we have Magic the Gathering here five nights a week and a D&D group on Wednesday. There's even a FreeBSD box in the tech room. This is the Greater Memphis Geek Center.
