Hello team,

We just released a new beta version of Golf Pad for Android, 15.24. This version includes the switch to the latest Samsung Tizen SDK library, which controls communication between the phone and the watch. We hope this change addresses connectivity problems that some Golf Pad users experienced, especially with Tizen 5 watches. Before we roll this change out to all users, we need to confirm it works well and does not break any of the existing functionality. Please install the update from Google Play Store (note, it may take a few hours to show up there), and use it with the latest version of the Golf Pad watch app from Galaxy Store. Please reply here or email sup...@golfpadgps.com once you have a chance to play a round and use the watch.

Thank you!
Golf Pad team.

I was hoping this update would fix my issue, but it did not. When I try to update the app, I get an error message stating that the "installation failed. Try later. (WO:WO:8003)".  Even worse, I can't unistall the app either. Just stuck.

Samsung Galaxy S10 phone and Samsung Active 2 watch

Jules

Also noticed that the in app round scores aren't sinking with the website player dashboard scores.

Played 18 today. Received" waiting for location" and offering "putt out option" message again, It was fixed by an earlier upgrade.
Full charge on watch at start. @20% battery left after 4hr 20min game. This was the first time I've had excessive battery drain, more that 35%.
Playing 18 again on Friday 10/30/2020

Thank you everyone who gave the new version a try! We will follow up individually via email with the people who reported problems.

If you have a Samsung watch and haven't tried the new version yet, we'd really appreciate if you do! Even if it's cold in your area and you are not playing an actual round, it would help a lot if you can check it with a fake round from your backyard. Just select any nearby course and see if both connected and standalone modes work well, you get rangefinder distances and can track score/shots, and the watch and the phone communicate properly.

Thank you!
Golf Pad team.

18 holes today Friday, 10/30/20. No glitches on Samsung Galaxy 46 standalone watch.
No warnings, looking for location, scoring problems.
Battery usage still higher than before update. 50% + of full charge. Normal was 20 to 35 %.

Tested yesterday on Galaxy Watch 3 in standalone mode and Galaxy S10 5G phone. Everything worked fine on the watch and the scores synced up after I reconnected. The only issue I had was battery usage. Each round used to eat up less than 50% battery. Yesterday I started at 97% and finished at 9%.

On a side note, it would be great if you could check your scores on the watch in standalone mode. I realized I missed a shot on one hole and could not go back to fix it until after the round and synced with the phone.

Thank you,
Rony

Hi

I also played few holes today. Samsung Galaxy S20 5G and Galaxy Watch + Tags. Everything worked as in previous versions including the same bugs and same missing features :). Sorry for the critics, but I'd used the App two years now, and unfortunately there has not been much development on the most critical missing features like visible handicap shots per hole, scorecard screen like Rony also mentioned + usability issues...

But good that no new bugs!

Regards

Played 18 today, Sunday 11/1/20 All good. I went back to no Bluetooth in stand alone mode.
I had not been doing this as it didn't seem necessary. Battery drain still high. 97% at start 35% finish.

Thank you everyone for your test reports, we really appreciate it! Higher battery use is a concern - we will take a closer look.

Thanks again!

A new updated has been just released: version 15.24.1.

This version includes additional debug logging about battery use. If you notice that the watch battery use is abnormally high during the round, please send a problem report from both the watch and the phone:
- On the smartwatch, scroll all the way down and tap 'Bug report'
- On the phone, tap the menu in the upper left corner, select Report a Problem / Other / Proceed to send the email. Please include a brief node about the battery level before/during the round.

Thank you!
Golf Pad team.
