Battery life on Galaxy Watch 3?

I currently have a Samsung S3 Frontier watch I use with Golfpad. Ever since the latest beta release I've been having excessive battery drain while using the golf pad app. Starting at 97% after 18 holes I'm getting about 10% remaining in stand alone mode (airplane mode). While under normal use my battery life hasn't degraded, I am open to the possibility that this 3 year old watch's battery is getting weaker.

I'm thinking of upgrading my S3 Frontier to a new Galaxy Watch 3 or maybe a Galaxy Watch Active, but am concerned with the fact that the new Galaxy Watch 3 has a smaller battery than the old S3. For those of you using the Galaxy Watch 3, how has your battery life been with Golfpad? What is the best smartwatch to use with Golfpad?
