However, things started to go downhill after Feb-April when I noticed a weird pattern of Unreal Engine games crashing more frequently and randomly on me than usual. Even on Deep Rock Galactic started to crash (a game that never got me issues since day 1).

ALWAYS with "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" crash and I already did everything that I could over the past months - reinstalled Windows twice, tried different SSD/HDD, no DOCP, previous old drivers of GPU, chipsets and even BIOS version. This crash never stops to haunt me. Meanwhile, other non Unreal games runs fine and no problems.

I don't know what to do anymore and this feels exhausting to search around for another "solution" that I already tried. I noticed a high group of people having these same type of crash on AMD drivers recently.

AMD are a scummy company, I have had 3 AMD gpu's throughout my life and all of them have had the same glitch where they freeze the computer under a specific heavy load like certain unreal engine games even though they can run other, heavier games with no problem! They ship their defective merchandise and sell it in my country! It is the only plausible explanation as to why I've had all my AMD gpu's experience the same type of error for probably 15 years now! Nvidia is more of a proprietary closed source garbage so screw them! If you manage to fix this let us know.

Update 2: Uninstalling GPU drivers and running by Windows default drivers doesn't solve the issue. For some reason, disabling Window's Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling resulting not crashing in couple of games, but others remain the same. League of Legends continues to randomly freeze itself in any match (normal, AI vs. and ARAM mode) -- PC and all background programs remains fine when this happens.

For curiosity, Resident Evil 4 Remake runs perfectly fine (RE Engine) and CSGO and Team Fortress 2 also runs fine (Source Engine). I'll continue to test on more random games, but the pattern continues: all Unreal Engine games have instability, and I noticed a group of people experiencing this same issue since the start of the year.

I'm not sure if this is related, but when I built my PC with a 5700xt I would constantly get black screens followed by my PC restarting. After about a year I stopped using discord constantly and my crashing almost completely went away. Apparently the issue, I assume, was multiple applications using hardware acceleration. So after I stopped using discord as much my crashing problem mostly went away, accept for the occasional game crash but that isn't out of the ordinary, and would only happen rarely. Try closing as many applications as possible and only run the game. It's not much but definitely worth a shot. Also, turn off hardware acceleration in discord. I didn't notice any crashes when using the application. Also try running DDU( Display Driver Uninstaller) if you haven't already. It's pretty simple just look up a tutorial. The goal with DDU is to make sure there are apsolutely no other versions of display drivers on your PC. Goodluck

my 1000usd gizmo 7900xtx crashes instantly with any unreal engine game now, its not a resource issue, i have 8tb nvme, 64gb ram, ryzen 3900xt. driver cleanup didnt work, increased swap file to 64gb didnt work, any graphic settings combination (even low) will crash any unreal engine game either version 4 o 5, obviously windows/games everything is on latest greatest updates. it all started while playing immortals of aveum, game crashed and i driver got corrupted, gpu got disconnected, file access to drive where game is stored gets on read only mode so im forced to reboot on every ctd. good job.

I have an application that was made on Unreal engine and for some reason when I disconnect my display (HDMI cable) it suddenly stops rendering/refreshing screen. Even if I connect to my PC via TeamViewer the application doesn't start rendering picture until I plug HDMI cable back in. Does anyone know what exactly causes this (unreal engine/windows/GPU drivers or something else) and how can I make this application to render picture at all times with and without HDMI cable plugged in?

Update: I tried to connect both computers to the same monitor and instead of unplugging HDMI cable, I used switch source option on my monitor, this seem to do the trick. But I am curious if I can achieve the same without having HDMI cable plugged into my video card

What do you like best about the product? As schools today bring the development techniques used around the world to help in different fields such as medicine, science , and many other fields Unreal engine represent an impressive tool for young students to start learning early access that can help them in their upcoming futureWhat do you dislike about the product?unreal engine always require high pc specs to handle the updated featuresWhat problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?Unreal engine can help my kids open their eyes on how they can use it to achieve faster and better ways to start their digital projects

What do you like best about the product?I really like Unreal Engine's visual scripting language - Blueprints. When I started off in game development, I had no idea what I was supposed to do and had little to no programming language, so blueprints was a blessing to me.What do you dislike about the product? There are some occasional bugs that sometimes ruin the experience. Random yet infrequent crashes and a bug with dual monitors and some graphic cards make it annoying to use in certain cases. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?I work at an indie game development company, and Unreal Engine helps ease a lot of the work that needs to be accomplished during game development, and it does so in any easy way.

What do you like best about the product?I love the content hub. Unreal is a powerful software with a lot of paths to take. I'm new to the scene, but the learning center has over 160 hours of content to get you started and hand hold newbies for a bit. And you don't need to think about resources; just get in and start your idea or fumble around a bit and experiment. What do you dislike about the product? The Royalty setup seems invasive to a company's financials. Though they did increase the royalty standard above $3K every quarter to being exempt on the first $1 million sales, you still pay the 5% on the quarter due every 45 days while sending in a royalty report. All in all for using a free product with that powerful engine. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?I was looking to streamline my idea for a card game. I wanted to go the route of Unity at first, but it also has a lot of heavy load I noticed from titles I enjoy. With Unreal I'm learning different coding techniques and am able to quickly string together my concept in a way that stays visual for me.

What do you like best about the product?Unreal has the best lighting engine as compared to others and its pipeline is best suited for large teams and more optimised for PC and console game development.
Unreal engine marketplace is also a great place to find assets and tools that give the unreal engine an edge over others. What do you dislike about the product?Unreal engine is still limited when we consider 2D and mobile games, it is not optimised and lacks many features for AR/VR and mobile platform development, Unity does that better. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?I am currently working on a game that is being built using Unreal Engine from scratch, it is being made by a team of 10 people at XorPhilic, the organisation where I work. I have realised that the tools that Unreal Engine provide are of great use especially for PC game development that we are targeting, Unreal engine marketplace also helps us a lot for the 3D assets. Overall, it is a great 3D engine that is perfect for teams like us.

What do you like best about the product?I like the rich platform and its easy to use natureWhat do you dislike about the product?Writing a script is still a complex process. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?I created a demo game for the internal purpose of my company for a proof of concept project.Recommendations to others considering the product:I would recommend using the unreal engine to develop games. Some of the big Games in the industry are created on top of this platform.

Ue provides multiple platform support which also is very convinient to port a game from a console to a mobile device. What do you dislike about the product?Though ue provides the best graphics it lacks in terms of compatibility and stability, its competitors have a larger userbase that helps in solving all kind of problems which is usually quicker than support. Though ue has multipe platform support but the stability is not so good specially for mobile devices where a lot of work needs to be put into it.What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?Unreal engine has been a pivotal tool for us since it doesn't even needs coding expirience since the visual scriptiong that it provides is comparatively easy and can be easily taught as well.
