Whyis my Samsung monitor not displaying? The common reason for the Samsung monitor not displaying is it's turned off, hibernating, or outdated display driver. To fix this issue, update the driver either manually or automatically. To learn how to do that, follow the steps explained in the above post.

Audio driver issues: Update audio drivers as outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause sound problems. You can update them through Device Manager or can use Advanced Driver Updater one of the best driver updating tool to keep drivers updated.

Hardware issues: Check for hardware issues. If the built-in speakers are broken you can face the problem. To check if that is the issue connect external speakers or headphones and see if you can get sound through those. If you can, it is an indication that there is a problem with internal speakers.

I cannot use a physical button to adjust the brightness of the monitor - at first, on the "quick acces" there was a text "unavailable", and in the main menu, the brightness text it was non-existant. After installing drivers:sudo pacman -S xf86-video-intel

As it came out, this monitor had "eye saving" mode that disabled brightness internally so manipulating it wasn't possible programmatically. I had to turn off the eye saving mode in OSD, and then everything worked like charm.

I contacted the nvidia support via chat and they solved the problem for me. They created a hot fix of the driver and there my problem was solved - "Some displays screen resolution limited to 640x480 after driver update [3330750] "

About a year and a half ago i got this samsung curved monitor for my pc. Recently the power button, also used as the menu button has stopped working. I can press to the sides to access the volume and brightness settings and all that, but i cannot turn off the monitor and access the menu screen. In short, pressing down on the button does not work. Please tell me if you have a solution because there are some settings that need changing that i cannot access. I believe this button is also referred to as a JOG button.

@Lolite: Sorry to hear that you're having issues with the JOG button on your monitor. If you bring up the On Screen Display for the JOG controls, and press and hold the left arrow on the back on the monitor for around 10 seconds, does this help at all (this action activates/deactivates a lock for the display controls)? If you press the Power/Enter button for around 2 seconds, are you able to power the monitor on and off in this manner?

I've recently developed the same issue for my 32" JG56 WQHD monitor as well. The monitor is working fine and the menu button responds to be able to change volume, brightness, etc. However, when I need to swap inputs to my work laptop and back, its really hard to get this button to work to swap inputs of to turn the monitor off, etc.

Its the only button to control all things on this model of monitor so having this fail is super frustrating.

Sorry for such a late response, but no. pressing the arrows down or trying to power the monitor off and on does not work at all. i've tried installing some drivers that another user sent here but they haven't made a difference

I feel like its something wrong with the drivers, but i can't get the right drivers for this model, i don't think. also, this monitor does not show up on the samsung store. it shows CF390, CF398 but no CF396

If you have eliminated your computer and video card as a source of the problem, probably would be a good idea to open up the monitor for a visual inspection of obvious malfunctioning components (for example, bulging capacitors, burn marks, etc. Probably would help others to identify the problem by posting a screen shot of the black line.

we tried updating the graphics driver but that did not work. says its up to date. no other option to change settings and the line just got worse. we're using a laptop by the way. i don't believe that should matter, right?

So this morning my USB c hub adaptor from Baseus (mechanical eye CAHUB-J0G) stopped working. At the time I was working with adobe and chrome and outlook. The adaptors just stopped working and everything went blank. I restarted the laptop and the normal HDMI output recognized the external display, but the USB-c hub is putting the 3rd external display in a small greyed out box in display settings window.

I tried using both ports and got the same result. I have also tested the HDMI cable being used, and it is working fine. The laptop recognises the USB-C adaptor when i plug it in and will recognize any flash drive/bluetooth reciever i place in it except for the HDMI cable. So the Hub works as well as all the ports therein, just not the HDMI cable.

So no, that's not my problem at all. The issue is with 3 displays. The HDMI port works perfectly fine, but the USB-C display port has recently stopped working. So to confirm, I have my laptop screen plus 2 external HDMI screens.

The USB-C display port stopped working and my external displays are limited to 1. When i plug the third screen in, the screen is greyed out in a small block in display settings. So it is recognized but doesnt extend the display to the third screen.

I would like to add, When I highlight the third display, I can't change the display resolution or orientation, I cant't toggle rotation lock and I can't select multiple display options, even though this setting does have a drop down list. Everytime I say extend, it will go through the srevert to original settings window with a countdown timer - but it won't actually apply the option. It keeps reverting to disconnect the display. Has a solution been found to this problem? 3rd monitor is disabled when connected via USB-C, any changes to Multiple displays setting in the control panel / display reverts back to "Disconnect this display".

Tried different USB-C to HDMI connection, with same results. Plugging it into the correct USB-C port (on right corner). No physical changes have been made from previously working configuration. Got latest drivers, etc.

Echo Lake, tried system recovery. Also tried a complete uninstall of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1640 driver, and reinstall Reversing displays, the problem stays on the USB-C port. As you can see, the monitor does show up, even its PnP model (Samsung C27F390).

Both monitors are showing up in NVIDIA Control Panel / Setup Multiple Displays, unable to click on the second. Similarly, both show up under Windows 10 Display Settings (right click on desktop), and the monitor keeps reverting to "Disconnect this display" after selecting Extend or Duplicate. Also tried unplugging the monitor, and re-plugging it in as suggested by other users. The monitor that does not work is the one plugged into USB-C, the HDMI one works.

@Rogue-One How was the recovery attempted, did you make use of the HP Recovery partition (F11) or did you use the HP recovery media?

I have a problem that I just cannot understand. After restarting my PC running Fedora 39 I got to the login screen and noticed that no wayland sessions are available. I have checked the gdm custom.conf (also in /run/gdm) but could not find anything wrong. Journalctl reports:

org.gno...@wayland.service - GNOME Shell on Wayland was skipped because of an unmet condition check (ConditionEnvironment=XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland).

I have checked, that hibernate/resume/suspend units are active.

My GPU is an RTX 4070 running driver version 545 from RPM Fusion. Issues already existed on version 535. The crazy thing is, that sometimes I can actually start a wayland session, but this only ever worked after about 5 boots.

Does anyone have any idea what the actual problem could be?

It links to the BZ report which links to a similar issue that was closed as similar even though in the issue that was closed the original poster stated they had a vanilla install of Fedora with no special modifications. That was why I linked it to your topic. As an afterthought on this, perhaps a GDM reinstall is required?

It would help us if you would post (copy and paste as text using the preformatted text button on the toolbar) the output of inxi -Fzxx (may need to install inxi first) and the output of dnf list installed \*nvidia\*

By the way, I have now recognized an interesting pattern: When coming to the login screen, most of the times the UI elements are shown on the wrong monitor and mouse movement between screens is not like it should be (according to GNOME settings). When I finally have the wayland sessions available after many reboots, the UI looks like it should and displays the UI elements on the correct screen.

Since there's been no reply to that comment, I've spent more time searching for an answer.

Today I found this thread in which Harman suggested on May 6, 2021, using a Notepad 12FX drive as a solution to 22MTK issues.
