Bad Joke of the Week: How many bluegrass musicians does it take to
change a lightbulb?

I would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who made it such
a great weekend! Thursday night at Appalachian Uprising was a
wonderful time, despite the little bit of rain and the mud, but we’ve
got a song for that so it worked out just fine. Greensky Bluegrass
played after us and they are really kicking butt w/ their show! Great
stuff! Also in attendance was Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper who,
as always, put on a wonderful show.

Friday night we traveled to Bowling Green, OH for a wonderful concert
at Grounds For Thought, a coffee shop and bookstore that roasts their
own beans and are involved with the Black Swamp Arts Festival which we
will be playing in September. There was a packed house and we had a
great time getting to know the folks there and things culminated in a
late night pickin’ party at the coffee roaster’s!

Then it was back to Niles, MI for the Niles Bluegrass Festival. We
had a great time and at the end of the night we hosted a band jam
onstage w/ James Nash, Warren Hood and Chuck Hamilton from The
Waybacks www.waybacks.com as well as three young hot pickers from the
band Lonesome Meadow. www.lonesomemeadow.com A great time was had by
all!
