Bad Joke of the Week: How are a banjo player and a blind javelin
thrower alike?
I just wanted to extend a big thank you to everyone who made the
weekend’s shows such a fun time. Although the van did break down…
AGAIN…on the way to Bloomington we still managed to get their almost
on time and had a great show! I got to see all three of the lovely
Drake sisters who I haven’t seen all together in longer than I can
remember! Lots of beautiful women dancing always helps a musician’s
morale!! We also got to have our good friend Mark Conway up with his
girlfriend Jules to sing a couple of their songs. I got to stand
between them so having their vocal harmonies in stereo was quite the
treat!
Coming up in the rest of this week, we’ve got a couple of solo shows…
Lukas tonight in Chicago at the Grafton and myself on Friday night at
Rachel’s. I’ve been working on a new duet so I’ll have a surprise
guest up for a number on Friday! Then early next week, I’m off to
California for my cousin’s wedding. Planned for the festivities are a
huge party and Hawaiian style pit BBQ! I’ve written a song for my
cousin’s fiancé to walk up the aisle to and will be joined by some of
the rest of the family on guitar, flute and bass. I’ll take some
pictures if I am sober enough to remember.
