<div>Update #1: We've had a tremendous first day. We've cleared the basic maintanance goal and are working on the initial hardware goal. The funds covering all of next year's server costs have already been deposited in my provider account: thanks so much everyone!</div><div></div><div></div><div>Update #2: Day 2 is down... and so is our second goal to replace my aging iPad Pro! It's amazing how much these powerful touch devices make my devlopment life easier, from coding to managing all the graphic work required. Thanks to one and all for your amazing support! Now onward to a pick up a refurbished Mac Studio to replace my m1 Mac... that should cover all my desktop computing needs for many years to come! (I was also able to take advantage of a fantastic deal on a Samsung A13 Android phone: a popular device that is a great addition to the testing pool!)</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Server donation drive Win prizes!</div><div></div><div>Download: https://t.co/nE6T5bK7cA </div><div></div><div></div><div>Update #3: Day 3 is almost in the books, and it's been great: we're halfway to the development machine goal. I made the first big order this afternoon: a new 12.9 iPad Pro! The 1tb model was tempting... but just too expensive, so I went with the 512 model which is still fantastic. My current iPad is starting to act a bit flakey, so I can't express how thankful I am to the community for making the new purchase possible. I absolutely rely on my iPad for so many development tasks. Thank you!</div><div></div><div></div><div>Update #4: Thanks to incredible generosity of the community, a new Mac is achieved. Now we're on the run to the finish to provide "flexible funds" for a variety of possible testing devices, software to ease publishing updates, more powerful servers, etc. Thank you!</div><div></div><div></div><div>The tools are free, and will always be free. But there are a number of expenses associated with creating, maintaining, testing, publishing, and hosting the free tools, including server costs, development fees, the need for new hardware, mobile devices for testing, and various software expenses. These would be challenging for me to cover, but the incredible generosity that the DCC community demonstrates during our annual drives continues to meet all these needs, and more!</div><div></div><div></div><div>The specific funding and development goals for 2022 remain quite simple. In a nutshell, Level 1 (raising $1000) will cover basic server costs, development fees, and other expenses, Level 2 ($2250) will provide funds for needed hardware/device purchases (primarily a new iPad Pro which I use for most development tasks, since it is by far the easiest way to work with my nerve-rattled hands), Level 3 ($4000) will help purchase a more powerful m1 Mac. Funds beyond these levels will be used to continue to beef up the main server, pick up an Android testing device, and help me invest as much time as possible on the tools. :)</div><div></div><div></div><div>To participate in this year's drive, just click on the PayPal button below, and give in any amount you can. You can receive cool rewards! (To get your prizes just provide your preferences in the form at the bottom of the page.)</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you're going to receive a Special Treasure for being a top donor, I'll contact you requesting your list of top choices, as well as your address for mailing physical items. Unless otherwise noted, physical treasures are only available to pledgees in the United States, unless we work out special arrangements. Thanks to all of you who continue to support the free tools!</div><div></div><div></div><div>In addition to the amazingly generous folks who give to the drive, there are others in the community who provide stunning, often unique prizes. Many items in this pool of goodies are distributed randomly to lucky winners who donates $10 or more.</div><div></div><div></div><div>The drive ends on July 16th at midnight. A few straggling donations always come in until the morning of the next day, so at that time the random prizes will be determined, and I'll begin contacting the most generous donors.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>Development this year is going to continue to focus on long in the works projects. Since the HTML version of the Crawler is finally in the wild (HUZZAH!), the next targets are the Mutant Crawl Classics upper level character generator, MCC support in the new HTML Crawler, and additional language support in the 0-level generator. Of course, Dying Earth is out there along with a host of other smaller projects, so the endless parade of things I need to get to continues!</div><div></div><div></div><div>In previous years I've invited those who donated to provide a 'small upgrade' suggestion for the generators, and a number of the suggestions made their way into the tools. Features suggested by the community have included: Creating 'leveled' character sheets for con play Detecting shields in occupation goods, and incorporating them in the character sheetAdding shields to the Upper Level Generator Making it possible for zero level characters to begin with no items or weapons, so the PC's can begin as prisoners, etc. Adding a 'Sanity" or "Fear" circle to a particular character sheet for campaigns with a sanity mechanic Adding new dice-rolling methods</div><div></div><div></div><div>Everyone who donates to the pledge drive this year is encouraged to use the form below to send me a "small upgrade" suggestion as part of your pledge. I'll use this list as my to-do tickler when I'm in the mood to make small updates to one of the tools. So think about how you use the tools, and imagine what little enhancement might make your judging life easier. It can be for any of the existing tools: I'm eager to hear from the community to see if patterns emerge!</div><div></div><div></div><div>It's always a thrill to see the tools at a table where everyone is having a great time. A few years back I whipped together a quick slideshow of images posted in the previous month to the DCC Rocks Facebook group, showing off the tools in action!</div><div></div><div></div><div>(If anyone needs an image removed, just let me know!) </div><div></div><div> Purple Sorcerer Games Your source for exciting, affordable, fun-to-play adventures compatible with the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG from Goodman Games.</div><div></div><div></div><div>But do they help? If yes, what kind of fundraising incentives can you provide to get the best results? How do you reward donors? This post will provide you with the answers to these essential questions.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Donation incentives (or fundraising incentives) are perks that you offer to your supporters to motivate them to take action (donate). These incentives could be something physical or intangible (like emotional incentives). </div><div></div><div></div><div>How do you make donors feel appreciated? Donation incentives. They are not necessarily prizes or rewards for donating; they are also a means to convey how much your nonprofit values the donor.</div><div></div><div></div><div>In simple terms, ethicality is determined by what is right for a majority. When you consider the benefits of the donations that these donor incentives bring in, it seems right. And it is! Because it is virtually impossible to get anything without some form of incentive, be it physical or emotional.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Theoretically speaking, fundraising incentives should work as people would be more obliged to give in for an incentive. However, a study by Yexin Jessica Li, associate professor of business at the University of Kansas, showed surprising results.</div><div></div><div></div><div>A fundraising auction is a perfect incentive-based event to motivate donors. In an auction, the items people bid for are donor incentives on their own. Apart from them, the fact that the proceeds are going to charity also encourages people to give more.</div><div></div><div></div><div>The motive of donation incentives is to motivate people to give and convey how much your organization values the donor. Directly recognizing the donor is an excellent way to demonstrate that appreciation.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Peer-to-peer texting is one channel that fulfills both criteria. With P2P texting, each volunteer can send out 3600 personalized texts in an hour and continue engaging with recipients on a one-to-one basis.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Both peer-to-peer fundraising and promotion can give your fundraising efforts a boost, unlike anything else. This is because people are more likely to respond to appeals made by their friends and family than an organization that they may not have any relation with.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Create an exclusive community of donors who have special privileges that other donors may not. Promote the opportunity and let others know how to be a part of this community. Some special privileges that you can offer to these members include:</div><div></div><div></div><div>Nandhaan is a marketer with nearly 5 years of experience researching & writing about communication for nonprofits, advocacies, & political campaigns.
