WordPress preloaders give visitors something more enjoyable and interesting to look at in the seconds while they wait for the entire page to finish loading. In some cases, they can even offer an estimate of how much time is left.

On the WP Smart Preloader Settings page, the first thing to do is select a style for the preloader. Under the Select Preloader section, there will be a drop-down menu letting you choose from six style options, as well as an option for custom animation:

We recommend the latter approach, as adding a GIF preloader to your WordPress site is best done with a plugin. In addition to Codepen (mentioned above), you can also download an animation from sites such as Spinkit and LoadLab.

I found a CSS animation snippet on Codepen, and would like to add it in my WordPress site for preloader animation, but I couldn't find any related help or plugin that would allow me to add a Preloader with custom CSS animation.

I have checked whole theme setting but not able to edit the preloader. I have tried using customize option but didn't find the option to change preloader text. i also tried theme options but still didn't find the option for that. so if anybody help me that would be highly appreciated. Thank you

Hi guys i added preloader gif to my wordpress page and it doesnt work properlyIf you can help me find my mistake or help me build it other way.Or if any of you knows any free plugin for preloading that would be better

Hi guys! I'm creating my website on WordPress and I would like to add a preloader animation like this gif (without adding it as a gif due to bad quality). So, since I'm new to coding, is it possible to do it in CSS?

hello, I have a question regarding the preloader, so I've use it and it ''kinda'' work (im using a gif animation) but I want it to last just a little bit longer , because when I load the page the preloader is way to short, any way that I could do that? thanks alot!

Hello, can I put a SVG javascript code somewhere insade the code you have provided instead of uploading svg file to media and copying a URL? It will help me so much because my own SVG animation does not work when I upload it to WP (but exported svg code works fine when I try to add it to a simple HTML custom code in Elementor and now I want to use it as a preloader but I don't know how) Thank you in advance! ?

First of all, I would like to thank you for all your helps and great ideas on this website. Then I have already created the code by using the code above but the problem is the size of the preloader is too big for mobile devices and tablets. I also designed the mobile and tablet version of my preloader, Is there any way to add more codes to separate the file's URL for different devices?

Maxime Desrosiers Wowww! Thank You very much for your great answers all the time, everything is working perfectly... Just out of curiosity, I figured out the one time loading the preloader at the initial session visit, is there any way to have a specific preloader for the first time visit, and then setting up another preloader coming up after user decided to go back to Home page again. (ONLY for DESKTOP view)

Thank you for providing this! Is it possible to use this preloader only for while certain widgets/shortcode content is being loaded, such as a shortcode element that pulls a products list via javascript?

Not really no. For these, it really depends on their HTML markup, and how they are coded, to know the optimal way to insert a preloader in there that would only show while it's loading, and be removed when it's ready.

Maxime Desrosiers hey i tried embedding this code else where (not on elementor) every thing works great but preloader animation does not go away it keeps on repeating over and over again can you please help me out here

Hi, Maxime! Thanks for your tutorials it helps us a lot. Actually I am using a gif preloader to my site so the problem is when some one visit to my site the preloader works perfect but when they reload the webpage sometimes the gif animate infinit it doesn't show the home page if they click on the gif then it shows. Can you please give a solutions about that.......here is the demo:

Looks like it's because of your optimization. You have delay JS set. So the code to remove the preloader isn't running until user interaction. You need to exclude that bit of code from the delay JS feature.

Love your preloader for elementor!
I wanted to ask how to preload a page or template for 3 sec, listed of an SVG. I have designed a template with animation and want it to be displayed on a page load, to have a sort of transition animation effect between pages.

Similarly, every Elementor template generates a shortcode to show the template content on the website. And The Plus Addons for Elementor use this to break the limits of the type of preloader content you can create.

In this article, we covered 8 different types of Preloader content style ranging from images, text, lottie to progress bar. With the special mention to combine option where you can mix match multiple content format for your Elementor preloader.

To set a preloader in Elementor, utilize the Preloader widget by The Plus Addons. Simply add the widget to your layout, customize its appearance and settings, and it will display an animation while your page loads.

A loader is a general term for any animation that indicates an ongoing process. A preloader is a specific type of loader displayed while content is loading, serving as an anticipation element before full page display.

Lottie files are vector animations that are lightweight and highly customisable, making them an excellent choice for preloader animations on WordPress websites. By adding a Lottie file preloader animation to your website, you can create a visually stunning loading experience that keeps visitors engaged while your site loads.

I have the same problem. Installing a website from a backup (Google drive) does not work. The website is not working and the wordpress version indicator is stuck spinning.
Website is down even though it is shown as working:

And the stuck loading animation:

Purchase DP Preloader from the Divi Marketplace. DP Preloader is a third-party plugin with lots of options of how and where the preloader will display. It normally costs $13 and includes unlimited website usage and one year of support and updates.

I decided to try a reversed option with the red as the background and the white as the preloader. The only change I made to the colors was to add 75% opacity to the background so the page can show through as it loads. I also selected a different preloader just so we can see something different and changed the Preloader Effects to FadeOut. This is the desktop view.

This time around, we will talk about the benefits of using a preloader animation. In addition, we will explain how you can easily add one to your WordPress site with the help of a plugin, so make sure to read on.

Now, while there are many WordPress themes that include preloader animation out of the box, not everyone is necessarily using themes that have this kind of feature. Or, even if you do have (or plan to get) such a theme, you might wish to have more options at your disposal. In that case, installing a preloader plugin might just do the trick for you.

After you install the plugin and activate it, you should go to Settings >> LoftLoader Lite. This will open a customizer screen where you will be able to fully customize the look and behavior of your preloader animation. You will be able to adjust your settings on the left, while an instant preview of all your changes will be available on the right.

The Background setting will allow you to set options like background color and opacity (to determine whether you want the background of a page to be visible while the preloader is showing or not), and even choose the ending animation.

By clicking on the Loader option, you will get to choose from 7 different preloader animation images. You can also upload two custom images and replace or combine them with one of the two pre-existing animation images.

The Maximum Load Time option will allow you to set the maximum load time (seconds) your preloader animation will be displayed on the screen. You will enable this setting if you enter any number above 0.

The Close Button option allows you to enable the appearance of a close button (so that visitors will be able to close the preloader animation) after a specific time (from 5 to 20 seconds). Additionally, you can also customize the button text.

Finally, the last tab allows you to upgrade to the pro version of the plugin to get access to more advanced options (available at $26), such as more preloader animations, the ability to use background images, patterns, gradient colors, enter a custom message, and more.

Lowering this value below the default will not have any effect. The animation will still be displayed until the image or video loads. Raising it, however, increases the amount of time the preloader animation is displayed by itself.

This means if you increased this value to 10000 (ten seconds) and your image or video loaded in five seconds, the preloader would still be displayed, by itself, for ten seconds, then the image or video would be displayed.

Preloader is Retina ready and comes with custom background colors and multiple preloader display options. It uses jQuery and CSS3, making it compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, IE9+, and most modern mobile devices. You can also check out the live demo to see it in action.

The plugin demonstrates cross-browser compatibility and is customizable. You do not need to be a coding expert to make the most of this loading plugin. Apart from being a CSS-only preloader, the plugin displays eye-catching visual feedback while the site is still loading in the background.

Loftloader is preferred over other preloaders in the market as it puts you in the driving seat with full control over the appearance of the count of preloaders. You can also put on display a counter and adjust the width, looping, and direction.
