to Goldens-n-doodles
Good morning everyone. A few weeks back when I told a friend that we
were planning on getting a doodle she recommended that I read The Dog
Listener by Jan Fennell. I ordered the book, and I read about half of
it yesterday. So far I have such mixed feelings about the book. I
think the author has great ideas that obviously work, but I just don't
know if I could follow her concepts. The idea of ignoring the
dachshund that we have now not to mention the doodle puppy we are
going to get just does not seem possible to me or to my husband. I
completely understand the point that Jan is trying to make about you
being the "Alpha Dog" or leader in your house, but we just love to
play and love on our dogs too much. It just doesn't seem like she
allows you to physically love your dogs. Has anyone else read this
book or have any feedback? Thanks.
