Kaiser Half Marathon GGRC Discount Code

Hi GGRCers!

Good news for everybody who wants to run our first official club race of 2018, the Kaiser Permanente Half Marathon on February 4.  The race organizers have offered us a discount code for 10% off!  Just use the code GGRC2018 when you register.

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you run into any problems trying to use the code.

When signing up, there's an option for "Team Participant" (it's $5 cheaper; see attached screenshot.) That doesn't apply to us, right?

Same question -- we might as well sign up as a team, right?  One of the race coordinators sent this out to another club I think:

1. Teams must have a minimum of 6 individuals, up to 30 members
2. Six team members are needed for team scoring 
3. Team scoring will be done by age grading, the highest age graded percentage wins
4. Twenty team members are needed for special gear check and team reunion space in the post-race finish expo
5. Team awards TBD

Obviously if there's an award for raddest team we'll win.

Confirmed that the 10% doesn't stack with the team discount which is unfortunate but it's worth it for the chance at the TEAM AWARDS! (whatever they are)

I have reached out to the race organizers to find out if the inability to "stack" the discounts is intentional or a glitch. I'll report back when I get a response.

I've confirmed that the discounts do NOT stack. So if you want to promote GGRC solidarity, take the team registration. If you want to shave a couple extra bucks off the reg fee instead, use the code they gave is. No judgments.

Per the Kaiser Half organization: If you want to join the GGRC team for the Kaiser Half, the deadline to register is Monday, January 8th at 11:59pm. (You can still register individually after that.)

Also, if we get 20 people on our team, Kaiser will set aside a section in the post-race finish expo for us to reconvene!

If you are registered individually, join the GGRC team!
