After 16 years, Sports Basement is rolling out it first "loyalty program", Basementeers! As you might expect, Sports Basement's customer loyalty is equally about "community" loyalty. The gist of the program is that customers who join Basementeers (Sports Basement waives the $25 joining fee for customers who have an existing discount with us) receive 10% off every purchase and Sports Basement give 10% of profits back to charity. Customers are invited to choose their favorite local charity as the beneficiary.

Basementeers Launch!

Sports Basement has built its business around partnering and serving the communities in which we do business.  A significant component of our community outreach has been through partnerships with local clubs like yours whose mission and spirit we champion.  As part of Sports Basement’s support of your organization, we offer an ongoing discount to your members that is triggered by mentioning GGRC at checkout. In addition to the ongoing discount, we have supported your needs by offering free space for meetings, and provided annual donations and shopping parties.  Together we have succeeded  not only in supporting each other, but, we think, in making the Bay Area a more cohesive community that aligns businesses and clubs in a shared purpose.

As Sports Basement evolves, one thing remains unchanged.  We want to support GGRC and our at-large community in a meaningful way and continue to offer special shopping privileges to our amazing customers.  It is with this sentiment that we are introducing  Sports Basement’s Basementeer program.   Basementeers receive:

• 10% off every item every day

• 10% of profits back to our customer’s  favorite local charity or school

• Please watch this one minute video to get the idea

An upshot of this program is that while historically customers received their discount through affiliation with GGRC, the discount will now be tied to the individual customer. But, don’t fret! Our desire to be affiliated and work with organizations like GGRC remains a core principal of our mission.   

Sports Basement’s commitment to GGRC will remain:

• Space is available to you to host meetings, lecture and parties

• Our staff is available to teach and inform

• Our stores will still remain your hub

We hope that the leaders of GGRC will embrace the Basementeer program, and help us inform your vast network of members and friends to become a Basementeer to receive their ongoing discount, but even more importantly, to choose a local charity to whom they would like to begin supporting with every dollar.   Existing GGRC members are automatically grandfathered into the Basementeer program (waiving of the $25 fee) if they registered by December 31, 2015.  

Ideally, you can share this with the gym, so people are not surprised when they come to the store and ask for their GGRC ongoing discount. Please let me know if you would like me to share some text and a graphic for you to pass along. This program will begin at our stores shortly! So please send GGRC to the stores to register!

To clarify, we need to physically go into the store to register by Dec 31? Can we do it at the register or should we go to customer service? And do we just need to mention GGRC?
