OTHER INFO
  • In case you missed it, the Golden City Council approved the Clear Creek Corridor Master Plan on April 14th. The garden is in the plan at it's current location. Thank you city council, parks & rec, and everyone involved in the process.
  • Can I plant anything right now? Yes, now is the time to plant cool season crops like peas. Before planting, soak pea seeds in water for a few hours to overnight to speed germination. The Boulder Culinary Group has a great planting guide; it is attached and also available online at http://boulderculinarygardeners.org. Follow the outdoor temperatures; dates are only approximate.
  • Soil Amendments - This year each 10x10 plot can use 1/2 cubic foot (7.5 gallons) of compost (the amount calculated for plant health), and 2" (18 cubic feet) of topsoil.  7.5 gallons of compost and 3 wheelbarrow loads of topsoil. (Please double if you have a 10x20).
  • Time Tracking  - Thanks to Mark Hesse, you can now track your time on-line: http://www.goldencommunitygarden.org/hours.html Please remember, it's your responsibility to keep track of time worked. (Work day leaders may track your time on those days if you remember to sign in.)

Thanks,
your garden crew
