Is there a way to bulk import metrics such as weight or other body metrics from say an Excel or CSV file?

I have data in both PPT5 and Training Peaks that I would like to have in GC but rather not go through typing it all.

old post, but did anyone find a nice way?

One suggestion was to creating a withings account, then manually import the csv with weights into withings and then sync withings to GC. I haven't got that far yet.
I setup IFTT to export my weight from Fitbit to csv in google drive. (working well so far..)

It seems there is no support in the withings API to push data in, so the import from csv would have to be manual. This is where my laziness has stopped me..

Thanks,

Mike

With 3.5 we just added a new Body Measures feature to import "Weight Data"

- from Withings
- from TodayPlan
- from a CSV
and to capture it manually per day in GC.

Will be part of the next DEV release in April

Cheers

BTW - TodaysPlan (payed account) can collect Weight Data from

- Garmin Wellness / Garmin Index Scale
- Under Armour
- FitBit

Hi Jörn,

This is great, I don't use TodaysPlan but good to know. Would the import from csv be available as part of an "auto import" directory?

Thanks,

Mike

It's worked for me with the combination

ts,weightkg,fatpercent,comment

and

date,weightkg,fatpercent

Maybe check you're using a header row with the correct fieldnames, that there
are no empty columns and that there aren't any leading or trailing spaces (not
sure if that last one is actually an issue...)

With a sample file it would have been more quickly
I have prepared a big file with excel ... the problem: the csv support file is not "international" and my excel save semicolon ";" separator instead comma ","

I have exported the data from garmin index scale from garmin connect, using this script https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/health-fitness/index-smart-scale/122916-. Works great and a got a csv file with all data in this form: Date , Weight,  BMI, Fat[%], Water[%],  Muscle, Bone

Is there any way to import in to GC, i have 3.4. Should i install dev build 3.5?

In v3.4 no, you need a v3.5 dev build and to convert your CSV to this format: https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/blob/master/doc/user/bodymeasures-format.txt
