Hy,
I have an elite qubo digital smart b+, that is recognized properly
But I would like to train in resistance to be able to use the gears to get the right watt, golden cheetath it seems to allow me to use it exclusively as erg trainer. there is a way to change modes?

Hi, you can choose 'manual slope' in the left pane. Is still a 'smart' mode, but resistance will be dependent on speed (and any gradient you adjust), so I think it will do what you want..

Regards,
Jon

Nope.
I want use a custom workout, but i do not want that to change the watt is  golden cheetah in erg mode. I wanna see the interval of the custom workout, the trainer put in an intensity of resistance and use the like elite turbo muin

Another option could be to re-pair under a new device profile and change
the FE-C channel to 'ignore'.

That should still give you power/speed/cadence data from the other ANT+
channels, but no control over the resistance.

unfortunately is not possible, I had already tried it but if I do I disable the FE-C, golden cheetah can not see power meter.

Hi Emiliano,

You might be able to add the trainer as a power meter only. Most trainers send data as FE-C, Power, Cadence and Speed on separate channels/device types. Have you tried that? I know that the TacX Neo and the Wahoo Kickr both do that. But the Wahoo does not send cadence..

In my opinion having the trainer adjust power is better for me. I can still adjust gears to make it more or less challenging (insert something about leverage and gear inches/ratio..).

what I tried to do I was groped a new pair but hiding the fe-c channel, but doing so golden cheetah does not see anything? am I doing wrong method?

no idea? is a problem especially when I want to test power, so they are obliged to do it in the old school, with a sheet of paper and golden cheetath in slope mode.
It would be much more comfortable using the goals.
I do not know what I mean!

Hi,

Just looking at the product page for that trainer, I would expect it to
broadcast 3 different ANT profiles; FE-C, power meter, and combined
speed & cadence.

If you go into the pairing screen, do you see those three sensors from
the same device id? If so, you should just be able to select the power
channel (setting the others to unused)..

Cheers,
Jon

Nope, in pairing screen The roller IS matched only in fe-c profile.
Power and speed are unmatched

Hi Emiliano,

You need to remove FE-C, make it unmatched.

Match only Speed, Power, Cadence, HR.

I can not do. the trainer is only recognized as fec, if I disable this channel, Golden cheetah does not detect anything.

Hi Emiliano,

I looked online and your device does not support the transmission of power/speed/cadence over standard ANT+ channels. (https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/11/2015-2016trainer-recommendations.html)

One other minor caveat is that the Elite trainer line doesn’t broadcast your power/speed/cadence over standard ANT+ channels (thus your Garmin can’t pick it up).  But it does do Bluetooth Smart, and also does ANT+ FE-C, so it can at least control it and record it.

Having said that you cannot disable ERG mode. As mentioned earlier, you should use the trainer as a smart trainer and ride to the resistance you have in your workout file.

Thanks,

Mike

Bad news.
With other applications, I can do it.
I hope that sooner or later I will be even with golden cheetah.

What other application?
What do you do to set resistance on the trainer?

For example trainer road

That uses erg mode.

Good spot, I reckon they are being a little bit dodgy using the ANT+
activity icons for S&C and Power in their marketing then (as they are
only supposed to be used after profile certification). Must be hard to
certify when the profile isn't even supported. ;)

Jon

There’s a basic resistance mode in FE-C as well, where the resistance is set to a percentage of the trainers max.

Maybe we can map grade from 0-10 to 0-100 percent resistance for trainers that don’t do slope? I’d have to have a look at the code and think a bit more when I’m not as tired as right now.
