For the last couple of GC builds the google map that shows my rides loads normally, but then quickly has a pop-up box that says the map is, "For Development Purposes Only." It asks if I own the website and then the map becomes grayed over and there is a watermark with the Development Only text.

Does this occur to anyone else? Is there a setting in GC to fix this?

Thanks

Yes, it's due to a change in Google Maps licencing.

Go to the chart options and change to OpenStreet map or, to continue using Google Maps, get an API key and enter it.

I am using a Google API I created, but it continues to show the same message: "For development purposes only".
Using GC 3.6 Dev build id 4002 (November, 20th). Same on windows and Linux. I have had the same issue with two previous 3.6 builds.

I think the API is ok, as I have tested it asking for data using Google REST API.
Also, in google console, I have noticed that there are calls with every try from GC, and the end up with error; I do not know how this console works, nor I can see error details, I can only see there are calls to "Maps JavaScript API" and 100% have errors. That 'activity' is enabled in my console.
Maybe I have to do something else in google. It is a mess, all that stuff: projects, activities, services,...

The alternative is to config the Map chart to use OpenStreetMap.

Thanks! The solution was: link the project to a billing account. Now it works!
