Put this in the pipe dream category. Sprinkle with hype. Reading the feature suggesting automatic updates brings an obvious suggestion to move GC to the cloud. A hosted application removes the need to distribute binaries, and provides an automatic way to back up users' ride data. This might still require a local app to get ride data from supported devices.

Delete if irritating.

  This may solve part of your feature request:

  Get a Dropbox account (or similar) and symlink it to your Library folder. Not only is it backed up, but you can sync it on multiple machines.

   I have 3 boxes. 1 Linux, 1 Windows (at work) and 1 Mac. All my rides are all in sync with all 3 machines and they are backed up in numerous places including the cloud.

   Works great.

What is symlink? I've been trying to get GC to not use the default
directory in Windows and use a directory in my Dropbox, but can't get
it to work.
