Hello everyone.

I wish I had known about the devel builds of GC before I paid for WKO+.  :\

Is there a way to enter weight so that daily weight changes can be tracked in the metrics?  I didn't see a location to enter it and a search of the archives turned up a discussion about it but I didn't see a definitive answer.

GC crashes a lot for me in 7, usually when switching to the ride plot tab.  Interestingly, on my work pc, I get a report in the event viewer, here at home, I do not.  Anyone got any ideas on that?

GC is giving me strange output in the maps.  My entire ride is there, but there will be a couple of paths that go from wherever I'm riding to 0,0 lat/lon and back.  Anyone know why?  There are 0s in the file at a few points in the one I examined in the editor.

Thanks!

Marcus

Does it sound like this:
http://bugs.goldencheetah.org/issues/show/127

It seems like these are spurious crashes. If you can provide any
details on your crashes that would b great.

What kind of data file are you using? We've had some problems with
importing GPS data in the past. you can try the "fix gps errors"
routine under the tools menu, or use the ride editor to fix things
up.

I thought that we were ignoring lat/lon of 0/0, but that migh just
be for .FIT files. see:
http://bugs.goldencheetah.org/issues/show/75

I've found that the switching tab crash on ride plot only happens for
me when I have stacked view enabled and I move off ride plot with it
still enabled and then try to go back into ride plot again. I now make
sure that I switch to horizontal view before moving off the ride plot.

I get this bug too on Mac.. But I can't reproduce it at will. The stack shows nothing but Qt. I can't see any GC code...

So maybe this is just a Qt bug..

Hi, Marcus:
Have you tried the Ride Editor? You can use the (quite handy!) search
tool to find data in particular ranges. Perhaps you can search for
these outliers in lat/lon (though it seems like you've already found
some in your scans).

When you find them, you can delete that data point altogether or
perhaps replace that spurious value with one that makes more sense.

I've found that sometimes I need to restart GC to get it to work with
the values I've edited.

Hope this helps!

Yes, sounds like that, Stacked view produces the crash.

Crash report is pasted at the BOTTOM of this email.

Yeah that sounds like the problem.  I have map data, but in the middle of
the track it'll jump from wherever, to the ocean off the coast of africa,
and back.  Editing the points in the editor to set them to mirror the points
before and after doesn't fix the map.  These are fit files, I should have
specified in my original email.  I'm a poor software tester.

So, are you seeing zero's in the ride editor or points that deviate from what you expect?  Right now I think that we are interpolating skipped GPS data when we read a fit file in.
see:
http://bugs.goldencheetah.org/issues/show/111

AS for editing the points, you'll need to save the file once the changes are made.  You also may need to restart GC after the changes for them to show up.  We're still working all of the kinks out of the ride editor.

Thanks!!

As Jamie said, the 0,0 points are when GPS is lost on the Garmin head
units. These should be ignored in the current development code when
plotting them on the made. The strange points are due to interpolation
and they do get plotted.

Which version of GC are you currently running. I thought that the
crash on switching tabs had disappeared but you never know.

When I grabbed this it was the latest windows build.  development build based on commit: 48a25081edcf2b91e7cf

August 14 2010.  Is there a newer one?

No one seems to have answered his question about entering daily weight values. I see weight is tracked as a long term metric, but I also don't see how to enter it every day. ???
