Hi,

for convenience I use a phone and app to record HRV data. Regularly, about once a week I export the data from the app and import it into Golden Cheetah.
I then manually set Resting HRV values with the filter tool.

For my use case, it would be really nice if I could automate the process somehow.
Is there a way to automatically set HRV values for the days for which activities with a HRV morning reading tag exist?

All HRV morning readings have a tag (for now I use the Workout Code field and set it to HRV_MR) and in my case only one of those morning reading files exists for each day.

Thanks for any hints on how to do this!

Stefan

Hello,

I still am wondering if it is possible to automate the setting of resting HRV values from workouts that are tagged.

What I think would be a good solution is that GC looks over all activites with a morning reading tag, e. g. at startup and does the calculations for HRV, resting HR, NN50, etc.
In subsequent runs only updates for not yet existing or changed activities need to be calculated.

I find HRV support in GC very helpful but the current handling is a bit more tedious than necessary.

Would this be something that should be sugested via github/issues?

Best regards,

Stefan

I think, for your use case, an streamlined and faster workflow is possible: you can setup a Metric Trends chart directly using HRV metrics (rMSSD, SDNN, pNN50, etc) filtered by your tag (s.t. Workout_Code="HRV_MR"), without the need to compute Rest HRV measures, which are really intended to import pre-computed HRV metrics from other apps.

Hello Alejandro,

thanks a lot for this hint.
I do have such a diagram, but never tried to look at the values without explicitly setting Rest HRV measures.
I always supposed, that you have to explicitly set the HRV values with the filter RR dialog (or manually in the options-athlete-hrv).

I just checked and it seems that without setting HRV those values show up. Either I completely overlooked this, or in the beginning it was different and I later on never checked again. Anyway: problem solved.

Sorry for taking your time (but then: I really appreciate your work, which can be seen, as I am using it :-) )

Best regards and thanks again,

Stefan
