All,

Just build the most recent V3 from GIT on Linux (Mint 14) and am having trouble with GC crashing.

1st I went into the train mode and recorded a workout.  At the same time I was recording this workout on my Joule.

When I clicked stop in train mode, GC crashed.  I tried to restart from the command line and the only output I got was "segmentation fault".  I had to remove the file that GC created from the train mode before GC would restart.

OK, so then I tried to import the .bin file from this workout from my Joule, GC crashed again and the file also had to be removed from my library before GC would restart.  Console output is again only "segmentation fault".

Trying to determine if the file on my joule was also somehow corrupt, I opened another used on GC and the file imported just fine.  I exported the file as a .json & a .csv, re-opened my normal user and tried to import.  The .json made GC crash right away and had to be removed from my library.  The .csv imported OK without a crash and I thought it was OK until I wrote in some notes and clicked save.  GC again crashed with "segmentation fault" and I had to remove the file.

I have both the .bin file from my Joule and the .json & .csv file if anyone would like to look at them.

Seems super strange that the problem only affects one user.

Tom

Sorry Tom, but this sounds like a build error. Too many unrelated issues that are not affecting anyone else. :(

Maybe try a make distclean; qmake; make to see if somthing got out of sync somewhere?

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

This was build from a fresh clone from GIT, not a rebase in an existing directory:

HI
I don't know if the same problem, but importing .fit files from garmin training center GC crashed.
I got this message:
GoldenCheetah: FitRideFile.cpp:411: void FitFileReaderState::decodeRecord(const FitDefinition&, int, std::vector<long long int>): Assertion `deltaSecs == time - last_time' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

OK, just to be sure can you send me the bin file and json file that caused the crash?

And if you have lucene support compiled in, can you remove it and see if the problems go away?

I'd quite like to know what version of Lucene you are using if that cures the problem.

Mark,

OK, I tried building your special version and I actually end up with a build error.  I've attached the output from that (output.txt).  Strange, I have no problem building the regular version.

BTW, my qt version:
$ qmake --version
QMake version 2.01a
Using Qt version 4.8.3 in /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu

Another weird thing is that the crash seems to be related to what user I am running GC as (not Linux user, but GC "rider").  For example my user is "Tom Weichmann".  I imported my ride file last night and it imported fine.  I typed in some comments and hit save and GC crashed and cannot be restarted without either segfaulting until I remove that latest file.  If I rename my user director from ~/Library/GoldenCheetah/Tom Weichmann to ~/Library/GoldenCheetah/Tom Weichmann.1, GC opens up, asks me what user I want to use.  I select Tom Weichmann.1 and it opens just fine with the "bad" file still being in the directory.  I even uploaded the file to TP just fine.  It isn't until I typed in more notes and hit save that it crashes again.

Now I created a test user, I can import just fine, type all of the notes I want and save just fine.  The crash seems to be related to this "Tom Weichmann" user.  I've attached my GoldenCheetah.conf just in case.  I've also attached yesterday's short workout file that is an example of one that is causing the issue.

Thanks,

Tom

The output.txt file contains no errors. I imported the bin file in latest on Ubuntu and updated the metadata without error.

Did you try building without Lucene?

Mark
