A few days ago I changed to version V3.7-DEV Buildid: 5002, Build date Dec 14 2024 13:43:23 from a previous version of V3.7 and I am having a problem inputting weights in Lbs.

Basically, everything I see in the menu's, metrics and settings is listed as "LBS" but when I go into "Measures",  it too is in "LBS", and I will enter my body weight in "LBS", but it instantly presumes its "KGS" and converts it to "LBS". So for example "200+ LBS" becomes "400+ LBS". And I cannot find how to stop that happening. Even my Body weight tile is in LBS but, it still shows over 400lbs.

My work around is to use my previous version to enter weights, do a save, and then when I use the new version, it still shows up in LBS as it should.

I have done a search in the forum, I find a similar issue from March of this year, but the link to resolve the issue, does not seem to help me find the answer.

I have to presume, somewhere there is a setting I need to find that I found in the previous version, but not so easy in this new version.....or is it a bug?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Last relevant change related to this was https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/pull/4567, does your previous version include this?

Nevermind, the bug was introduced in that PR, until it gets fixed you need to add your weight in kg, even when the popup says lbs. Perhaps a simpler workaround is enter whatever number when adding a new weight and then fix it in the list, inline edition doesn't seem to be affected by this bug.

Thank you, Joachim, it works in my tests.

A Windows installer including this fix will be available at https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Joern-R/goldencheetah-knhd8/builds/51217408/artifacts when ci build finishes.

I had stopped attempting to add "Weight" using measures but today, I went to enter todays ride and discovered that since 24 Dec when I last used Golden Cheetah, it had lost all my weight information in "Measures" back to March 30th 2024, the only weight showing was what I had entered on the 24th Dec but I did not use "measures", instead I entered it under "Data, Weight" as it would show up still in LBs.

So I have deleted  V3.7-DEV Buildid: 5002 and gone back to the previous version.

In a hope that I could recover my weight information, it appears that my backups are corrupted as well, including the one I created before I installed   V3.7-DEV Buildid: 5002

Many thanks for fixing the issue, but, I can never understand why their is three places that you can enter your weight when surely, just one place would suffice. In a similar vein, I have now started to show "Min Temperature" and "Max Temperature" on my "Overview", each in their own Tile, but, I can only display it in "F" and not "C" and I cannot find a setting that would change it, or even a menu where I can input it manually etc.

Having used GC for many many years, I am now beginning to think GC is starting to get a bit over complicated especially when you only need basic needs.

I think it is for historical and backward compatibility reasons. The recommended way is to use daily measures, weight metadata at the activity level can be safely ignored and even removed from Data Fields configuration. Why don't we do this by default? Perhaps to avoid some users complaining about this, think we still have Web Summary widows sticking to a 3 years old incomplete version just because they still want to use that chart/don't want to learn the new one...

Because we don't support mixed units by default. You can use a formula for that since internally all metrics are in metric units and you can convert to your taste.

Agree, if you have basic needs other solutions may be a better fit.
