has anyone used these http://www.reallifevideo.de with GC ?

I have both a Computrainer and a Kinetic.

Will these videos work in some kind of erg mode or are they just video
that you play while you cycle ?

When ordering they ask if I plan to use it for

Tacx Trainer Software
Tacx Video Player
TacxFortius
Ergoplanet

Will that choice make a difference ?

thanks

Tacx Videos come in two flavours;

RLV - where the video playback needs to adjust to turbo speed (.avi, .rlv, .pgmf)
ErgoVideo - where the load is synchronised to the video (.avi and .pgmf)

We support ErgoVideos because, essentially, they are the same as a Sufferfest video and an erg file. I own and have used the Milram and Cadel Evans ergovideos. We will eventually add video playback control for RLVs, but its not high on the list at present.

So in summary; ErgoVideos work with GC, RLVs do not.

Hi Mark,

I notice the new Tacx Ergovideo's don't have a .pgmf or .tts file and are not compatible with GC. I don't know what the software is now reading to determine slope and wattages... I assume it's now part of the data packages. Is there any possibility of creating compatibility for the new video's?

Tacx are notoriously secretive and like to keep you locked in.
We prefer to support vendors with a more open approach (e.g. Wahoo, TrainerRoad, Sufferfest etc)

Yes, although I hear a rumor Tacx may be opening up in the near future ;)

I've worked out a way to obtain a .tts file for the new video's. Does anyone know how to convert these .tts files to .tcx (or other common power file) format?
