I've been using GC for 1 month and I'm really liking it, but I still have many doubts about some words and acronyms that I find there.

I found the meaning of some in the "FAQ Metrics" and other searching on google, but there are still many that I don't get.

So I think a GC Glossary would be very welcome. I give some examples of words that I still don't know what they mean:

rr (metrics)
TriScore
endurance index
D' / CV / Vmax / FTV
Tau
Oxy
TISS
W' (ext) / CP (ext)

I found the meaning of these expressions elsewhere but I still think they would fit nicely in a glossary:
W'
W' bal
CTL / ATL / TSB
P-Max

thansk for the great work being done!

You are welcome to start it - the Wiki is open for everybody to enhance.

Hi Jorn,
I'm a total noob when it comes to wiki, but if there is any template I would happily fill the blanks with the things that I know.

But as fo
r the things I don't know, if someone could give me at least a hint it would be very helpful, bc it's impossible to search the meaning of things like D', rr, (they are too common)

My 2 cents:

rr stands for Ramp Rate

TriScore: a combined stress score computed according to sport: BikeScore for cycling, GOVSS for running and SwimScore for swimming.
endurance index: W'/CP or D'/CV, units being seconds
D' / CV / Vmax / FTV: the equivalents to W' / CP / Pmax / FTP when modelling speed-vs-duration instead of power-vs-duration

The GitHub Wiki is very easy/simple to handle. It's a set up pages - with simple Markdown editing formatter - easier than any text editor.

I have created an initial page - with  an example for the formatting of "Term" and "Explanation". Nothing sofisticated.

Thanks for your support,
Joern

Thanks a lot!

I've started writing it; feel free to add and correct anything I've written.

Excellent!

WRT to metrics, since the new user defined metrics have a description field, I was thinking we could add that field also to builtin metrics -matching the glossary text- and to show description as tooltip on available metric lists in options/preferences

I just added more entries...

but one that I cannot find any info (only a small discussion on reddit) is TISS.

I really don't get the difference in measuring "training strain" as opposed to "training stress/load", could someone explain it or offer a link?

Nice work Lucas,

Thank you for doing this.

They are intended to isolate training impact, TISS stands for Training Impact Scoring System.
  • Ae TISS is a measure of the impact on Aerobic Systems
  • An TISS is a measure of the impact on Anaerobic Systems

They were proposed by Dr Phil Skiba and we added them as an experimental pair of metrics.

As we work more on impulse/response models they may be used to offer more insight as inputs into autocorrelation, factor selection and multivariate analysis.

Added some more entries. I did a search on this Google group to find some of the harder ones.

In master code we now have a description for builtin metrics, it is shown as tooltip on metric lists in options/preferences and curve settings for Metric Trends charts.

MARK excuse a question about TISS
If the value rises does it mean? What's going on?
We have references in the literature?
Thank you
